Welcome to Butterfly Cove! Our family loves living in one of the most amazing stretches of the beautiful North Coast. It’s a wonderful opportunity to be able to share our space and our private large backyard with visitors. You will love exploring the areas beautiful beaches ,redwood trails, fishing, and shopping throughout the year. Our home is 1,300 sf and is centrally located in McKinleyville. We are located on a quite cut-de-sac. We offer a large well stocked kitchen and a 3 bedroom 2 bath home. All bedrooms have queen size beds. Washer and drying is available for your convenience.
After all, our home is your home tonight! So let us be the first to say, welcome home!

Dogs are welcome with extra fee of $125 (per dog) and prior approval. Please email before booking our home if you are traveling with pets. LIMIT is 2 dogs.

We (me, wife, our 2 young boys and their grandma) absolutely loved our stay here. It is clean, spacious, and comfortable. It is in a nice, quiet neighborhood, and there are multiple grocery stores and restaurants within walking distance. There are many amazing hikes and beautiful beaches just a short drive away.

This place is neat. Big back yard for the kids, a nice layout and in a nice neighborhood. It’s off the main drag but tucked away so not a lot of traffic. We would return for sure. The decorations inside are nice as well.

The property was in a non-descript neighborhood off the main drag of Mckinleyville. Easy to get to places. The house was clean, provided for basic necessities. A few games or books would have been a nice touch.

Trip to the Redwoods

This home is a great base for seeing the Redwoods, Avenue of Giants to the south, Trees of Mystery to the north! The house is just how described, very comfortable and it had everything we needed. The large yard is beautiful and a huge plus. It is also close to shopping and fast-food options. The hosts thought of everything. I would certainly recommend this home.

This is a great place to stay when exploring the Redwood Coast and truly felt like being home. The house was exactly as listed. There is a huge yard and is located in a quiet peaceful neighborhood where you can hear the crickets chirp and the frogs croak under the stars. No complaints at all.

It feels like visiting family if you have family you like. :) The decor is cute/homey and a bit eclectic. The place is super clean. And the whole place is STOCKED with all you could need... except beach towels so bring your own. We were very comfortable. Communication with the host before our trip was so friendly and helpful. Adorable, fully-stocked house with amazing yard

This house is on a quiet cul-de-sac just minutes from the grocery store and restaurants. The owners have this house well-stocked with everything you’d need except your groceries. The yard was shockingly large and had lovely flowers, shade, and a seating area. For anyone with fragrance sensitivities, you can smell the fragrance from cleaning products when you enter (as one would expect in a pet-friendly house with carpet), but it wasn’t overwhelming. We didn’t see any pet hair on the furniture or on us, even after playing board games in the floor with our kids. The house was lovely and there was an abundance of storage space for clothes and personal items in the bedrooms. We had a lovely stay in this home and hope you do the same!

Everything was bright, cheerful, clean, comfortable & well organized. The interior butterfly collection is perfect but what really we enjoyed were your special clear glass plant hydroponic planters. Your yard and flowers (especially roses and hydrangeas) were lovely. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed having the sliding doors open (with screens closed) so that we could enjoy the outside breezes. The location of your home is great. The neighborhood is very private and quiet yet we were within walking distance of restaurants, grocery stores/co-op, and a great bakery. Additionally the central location was perfect for taking day trips to lots of great places. We explored many of the beaches in the area, the Sue-meg/Patrick’s Point State Park & the Sequoia Park Zoo & Redwood Skywalk. Your Guest Information Manuel was very helpful. We have not had many VRBO rental experiences for comparison, however there are a few things that might be helpful to include for others who visit your abode, for example; we didn’t find the vacuum until it was time to leave…and more specifics regarding expectations for clean-up would be helpful. We washed and dried most of our towels in the morning before leaving and left one load still on wash cycle. We stripped the beds and left sheets on floor in lau

Butterfly cove is a beautiful home and the nicest VRBO we’ve stayed in yet. The home felt like a home away from home. The home was very clean, fully stocked, very comfortable beds, pillows and couches. The yard was big and perfect for our small dog. We would love to stay here again.
