Moonstone Beach Retreat - Beach Lover's Getaway!

Perched above beautiful Moonstone Beach is perfect for 2 couples, close friends or a small family looking for a relaxing beach getaway. This home features endless seascapes & mesmerizing sunset views and is just a few minutes walk down to the beach! The friendly owner has private quarters below with a separate entrance downstairs. She keeps to herself when visiting and respects guests' privacy. The endless views of Clam Beach and Little River combined with the proximity to Moonstone Beach make this home a great spot for exploring the North Coast. Moonstone Beach is a local family favorite beach that is best known for great surfing, kayaking and fun exploring with rocks to climb, tide pools, sea caves and pristine sand. Running and fitness enthusiasts will love taking the downhill stroll to Moonstone beach, crossing Little River and walking or running for miles on Clam Beach. On a low tide walking north on the beach will lead all the way to Camel Rock, a popular surf spot. After a day of exploring the Redwoods and beaches guests will love sitting on the South facing deck soaking up sunset views.

The open floor plan is spacious and bathed in natural light from the unadorned windows. This beach house is decorated with a mix of modern and vintage decor that creates a comfy vibe with a large contemporary sectional sofa plus 3 old fashioned rocking chairs perfect for lounging and enjoying movies on the large Smart TV. The open living room feels like a solarium with expansive windows without coverings that allow the outdoor views inside. The newly remodeled kitchen is fully equipped for all of your culinary and entertainment needs. The propane bbq is located on the deck just off the kitchen for easy grilling. This two bedroom, one bathroom home comfortably sleeps 4 adults and can accommodate 2 kids w/ twin rollaway beds. Each room has a queen bed and a fold out twin. The bathroom has a combination tub/shower. The full sized washer and dryer are conveniently located in the hall closet. Convenient parking in the driveway allows for two to three cars.

Moonstone Beach Retreat is located off of Scenic Drive running just below Hwy. 101 so this home is easy to access but may have some road noise along with the sounds of the sea. Drive less than three miles away from the seaside village of Trinidad which offers a full service grocery, restaurants, a wine tasting room, cafe, art gallery, museum, pier and pristine beaches. Explore nearby Trinidad Head's 45 minute loop trail with spectacular panoramic ocean views. Patrick's Point State Park just 5 miles North of Trinidad offers a plethora of outdoor activities such as hunting for agates, exploring tide pools, and hiking the majestic Elk Head Trail. Take a scenic 40 minute drive North to explore the majestic Redwood National and State Parks.

Fantastic Redwoods Retreat!

So happy with this stay. Planned a trip to the Redwoods and this was a fantastic home base. Short trips to many trailheads, Trinidad’s downtown is so cute to grab necessities, coffee, sandwiches, etc. and Moonstone Grill down the street (1 min drive) is a great spot for dinner. The house was very clean, comfy couch, and so much natural light! Would absolutely recommend.

Perfect de-stress getaway

Comfortable and scenic home away from home. Quiet with all the amenities you'd need to relax and enjoy by-the--sea living. Property managers were terrific!

Great Views!

My wife and I had a wonderful time of doing nothing except mostly staring at the view. It was an easy walk to the beach, and close to McKinleyville for shopping.

Great getaway

Really lovely location close to the beach and lovely views. Lots of windows and natural light. The tv is so far from the couch though haha just be prepared for a small viewing experience. But it is a smart tv so that was very nice. Perfect for a girls trip :)

Amazing View - Short walk to the beach!

The back bedroom has a treehouse feel there are so many trees surrounding it. The views looks south down Clam Beach to the Lost Coast when it is clear. Watching the tide change the height of Little River is fun. We had some friends up on the first night and the kitchen was great for hosting people, making drinks, and putting out food. We'd stay here again!

Family trip

My family and I were very happy with staying here. The house was spacious, comfortable and had a great view of the ocean. The kitchen had all you needed for eating in, which we cooked most of our meals. Communicating with the owners was very easy. We spent time at Moonstone beach collecting sand dollars. Drove the short drive up in to the Redwood national park. Sunsets at Honda Point were amazing! Would definitely come back!

We had a comfortable stay in the unit. We were surprised by the limited kitchen items as well as the condition of the beds and bedding. The bedrooms could use updating and more blankets. The deck and deck furniture were not inviting.

Saved our vacation

After driving 11 hours roundtrip to see the old growth redwood forests and northern California coastline, to our chagrin, we found the forest hiking trails closed due to excessive rain and the beaches inaccessible due to giant swells. Instead, we dined at various restaurants, went to the zoo, and spent the majority of our time at this excellent rental playing Dominoes, Jenga, and various board games we brought. I had an excellent time bonding with my 11 year old granddaughter,, my daughter, and son-in-law. It helps greatly that the rental was very clean and well appointed. I would like to stay here again when we return during the summer.

First time in California

This was our first experience with the great state of California and it was very memorable. The beach was a 2 minute drive and GORGEOUS. The house was just what we needed. It was a little hard to find the first time. A picture from Google Maps with arrows showing the easiest path to the front of the garage would be a welcomed addition to the email directions after booking. The location is ideal. Driving distance to many attractions and you can be home for a hot shower and bed! Loved the trip and how quiet the neighborhood was!

Great family trip!

We loved being so close to the ocean. Hearing the waves crashing from the house was really nice. We also loved the two minute drive to the beach. We tried walking but sadly realized we weren't in the right shape to make that climb back up the hill :) Driving was perfect! We were even able to star gaze from the bedroom balcony. The location to the small community of Trinidad was nice. There was a grocery store, convenient store, restaurants, and a couple of shops. Everyone was very friendly. Overall, it was a fantastic trip and the house was wonderful!

Great location!

We arrived after dark & it was raining so could not locate property. Also, had no phone reception. Could not access info regarding property. Recommend you print specifics on access which I failed to do. When we returned the following day it was easy to locate & I had written down the details so easy to access. This property had a beautiful view of the ocean! It was well furnished & the kitchen had everything you needed. Recommend adding small tables with lamps by couch as overhead lights are very bright. Also, recommend that the binder in the home include specifics for accessing the TV. I would highly recommend this property!!

We loved the huge sectional to enjoy the incredible view and for playing games and reading! Perfect location if you are visiting Redwoods parks. The house was immaculately clean. Lots of fresh towels and bedding. Super well appointed kitchen. They had everything one needs. Huge pantry area. My kids loved the swinging chair inside... a few naps were taken there too! Easy, quick drive from the airport. We have already been telling friends and family we know the perfects place to stay, should they venture out to the west coast! Thanks so much for a great vacation!

Nice property

The house was spacious and comfortable. Access to the home was very easy. The kitchen was well equipped and the bed was comfortable. Great location for visiting the state parks. However I experienced a serious problem with ants. The property managers were very responsive by providing ant traps and spray. But I believe the property would benefit greatly from a professional pest control service especially with the damp climate. I never did figure out where they were coming from. While my problem involved hundreds of ants on the kitchen island and surrounding floor and walls (note: I had no food in the kitchen), I also noticed an ant trap in the bathroom. The property manager was also very quick to respond when the battery in the tv remote needed replacing. .

This place was great to stay at and is in a good location for several nearby trails that lead to beautiful views. The restaurants nearby were delicious as well. This place had everything we needed and the beds and bedding were very comfortable. It was also very clean.

Trinidad Retreat

Trinidad is a great town to stay in when visiting the area. Helpful friendly hosts. Comfortable place that is a short walk to the incredible Moonstone beach.
