Located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by living coral, a trip to the island of Maui is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Its upmarket hotels and luxury condos make it a popular honeymoon destination, while families are attracted to the outdoor lifestyle made possible by an overwhelming selection of picture-perfect beaches.
The North Coast is home to some of the greatest swells in the world, which is why adventurous watersports are so popular here. Surfing was invented on the Hawaiian Islands and surfers the world over are attracted by the spectacular barrel waves of Honolua Bay and nearby Napili Bay. The North-western shore is also home to one of the best beaches in the United States, the award-winning Kaanapali Beach, which attracts holiday-makers in their droves.
Nature lovers will revel in the spectacular array of flora and fauna around the three beaches of Makena State Park, while the partially submerged volcanic cone of Molokini provides a sanctuary for rare sea birds and an incredible wealth of sea life for those willing to make the 5-kilometre boat ride.
Snorkelling and scuba diving are popular across the island as the coral reefs attract vast numbers of beautifully coloured fish and crustaceans. Hit the waters of Maluaka Beach, Wailea Beach and Kapalua Beach to get a close encounter with monk seals and green turtles – keep an eye on the horizon as if you’re lucky, you may even spot passing humpback whales!
When you want to escape from the world and relax on the golden sands without being disturbed, seek out the extensive Keawakapu Beach, which is a little more secluded. Here you can swim, snorkel or just relax with a good book in peace.
Serviced by Honolulu Airport, Maui is a great base to explore the different islands of Hawaii or to just kick back and relax for a week under the swaying palms.
I don’t like the charge of parking they shut by don’t charge for parking the hotel charge 10$ a day for parking
I was supposed to have an ocean view but it was covered by Palm trees, I called the front desk and they moved me up 4 floors which was gorgeous. The resort was beautiful, I did like the location. The beach was a lot of coral but I was okay with it. I liked the various pools they had especially with ...
This hotel was beach front with a beautiful path connecting you to the shopping mall and dinning options besides that in the hotel. Staff and service was excellent, amenities are superb! If you aren't a great swimmer, take advantage of a guided kayak tour because you don't have to paddle out too ...
The grounds are spectacular with lovely walkways, tropical plants, flowers and koi ponds. My 14 year old daughter had a blast going back and forth between the pools and beach. We wished we would have stayed more than one night.
I like the convenience of having stores available. I did not like the carpet in the room and the old furniture
Easy access to the beach. The food at Whaler Village, which was a quick walk along side the beach, was excellent.
