Maui Ocean Center Tours and Activities

The hospitality of the staff at the Outrigger Kaanapali Beach Hotel was exceptional. We upgraded to a newly renovated room which, with the exception of the lighting system, was very nice. Putting a card key into the slot to activate the lights seemed to make no sense. We ended up having to leave a side table on low to have ANY light during the night. Even a night light in the bathroom would have helped. There was no way to turn off the overhead light in the bar area. Our biggest complaint, which may keep us from staying with you again, is the limited food service options. Maui Brewing Company is just okay and offers a limited menu. Not having the snack bar available by the pool is inexplicable. And we heard it could be up to a year before that is up and running again? That makes no sense. What also makes no sense is being unable to charge F&B expenses to our room bill. Paying $25 per day (on top of a resort fee) for each beach lounge chair is excessive, though the service people in that area were very helpful.

We stayed in the brand new tower of the hotel and it was clean and comfortable. Hotel is located across the street from the beach and Kihei caffe on the property which made it super convenient! Pool area was nice with bar/food. Live music some of the nights. Definitely recommend! Nice hotel and more affordable than the large luxury resorts. We will be back! Only thing I would recommend is I ordered a pina colada mocktail at the pool and they didn’t tell me they don’t have a blender and essentially got a pineapple juice. I could have gotten a pineapple juice cheaper at the store. Doesn’t deter me from staying again, but it would have been nice to know at the time of ordering!
