We did not realise this was an upstairs pub room with shared facilities but that was OK. We thought the pub had a separate motel complex, but you live and learn. The stairs were very very steep and in fact could be dangerous. The corridor floor creaked and groaned when you walked on it so any one walking past could be heard in the bedrooms. The aircon to warm the room up was useless and very noisy. Food was great

The room was clean and the bed comfy, but was fairly basic. The bathroom facilities are shared, and while clean, they certainly need updating. It's a fine line between keeping the charm of an old hotel while having modern bedroom facilities. The dining room is lovely and the food was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. Downstairs amenities were clean and modern, just upstairs needs a little attention. Overall we did enjoy our stay.

The property was right on the river bank, staff very friendly, restaurant food 👍👍👍great atmosphere, the only drawback was having to walk down the long hallway to the bathroom through the night, but we appreciate the fact that this hotel was built in 1900!

We had a pleasant stay at the Pretoria hotel. The staff were friendly and all facilities clean and tidy. The dining area and location were outstanding with beautiful views of the river. We'll be back.

Spent three nights and never once saw any bathroom or bedroom cleaned no daily housekeeping as stated on Expedia no fridge in room had to make coffee on bedside table woken up first morning 7am bottle delivery second morning 7am some idiot vacuuming the driveway not cool won’t stay again but the down stairs bar staff were good and food was good

The hotel was a good cheap place to stay. However there are some things to be advised. There is a steep staircase to climb with no option of an elevator. The bathroom is shared unisex with 2 shower stalls, 2 toilet stalls and a double vanity. Also the floors creak and squeak badly making a lot of noise. The room was comfortable and clean. The bed was okay.

overall ok, no toilet attached, a problem for a family. The toilets were clean and available all the time. Nice food and drink. No washing area attached to bedroom/common kitchen, you cant even rinse a used plate. A kettle and tea/coffee items supplied in bedroom, no microwave even in common kitchen, I struggled as I was with family of two kids, wouldn't be a big problem if just bachelors.

I took my family of 4 to stay in a family room. We loved the old pub style stay. It was a genuine old hotel with a clean and comfortable room. The shared bathroom was clean and showers were good. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The room had a split system air-conditioning unit and a great ceiling fan. Beds were comfortable and crisp fresh linen was soft and enjoyable. We appreciated the accessibility to the large front balcony and breakfast room. There also was nice toiletries provided with the towels in the room and coffee and tea along with the kettle. On site carparking was appreciated too. Will definitely be back. Great price for a family get away.
