The property is dated and does not meet what I would describe as a 5 star hotel. The welcome to the property was poor, no welcome and the facilities were explained we were just given a handout to read. This can’t have just been our experience as we had to help a couple in the lift during our stay who couldn’t work out where to find their room number on the paper they had been handed. Bathroom facilities were poor, the toilet didn’t flush easily and the door was did not stay closed. They haven’t moved to large size shampoo, conditioner etc yet so from an environmental perspective they are behind. The small soap for hand washing is green and leave a terrible mess around the hand basin and when the bathroom was supposedly cleaned by house keeping this wasn’t actually cleaned so I’m dubious of how well they did clean the room. The bed was also only tucked in on the side you could see from the door and while this doesn’t worry me it does make me wonder how well they are actually servicing the room. Breakfast is poor, the person manning the omelette station is doing a great job but is run off their feet by the demand so the wait is long. On our third morning we decided to just skip the breakfast despite having paid for it as it just wasn’t up to scratch. The hotel location is good but I wouldn’t stay here again, there are better options near by.
