North of the city was Constable country… nice walks and interesting info on the artists. South we enjoyed Tiptree museum, and the Salt marshes for walking and photography. "The owners were very welcoming and accommodating. We had everything we needed. Location is peaceful and idyllic on the lake and is really easy to get to. We felt safe and secure behind the gates. The bed was super comfortable and the house was super clean. "We absolutely loved our stay here for a birthday get away. Everything you needed was all there and the bed was extremely comfortable as well as it being nice and dark with the overhead cover. Communication and instructions were super clear, we cant wait to go back!"

"Very nice quaint cottage everything you need for a comfortable stay. Bed very comfy. The only downside for me was the very steep narrow stairs but were manageable. The owner was very nice and helpful lovely breakfast basket left in the kitchen with bacon eggs tomatoes bread butter and milk. A fire made in the grate just needed lighting. I had a very pleasant stay would definitely stay there again."

"Wonderfully rustic property in a brilliant location. Hosts were gracious and welcoming and made sure we were settled. Local White Horse pub (minutes away, walkable if you're feeling energetic) is a must for their housemade pizza and in-house brewery. Great weekend getaway ... highly recommended."

"We had a wonderful stay at Rose Cottage. It is the perfect little getaway, cosy and comfortable with a gorgeous open fire. Mark was a kind and helpful host, even lending us a Yorkshire puddings tray to make Sunday Roast! Highly recommend "
