"With the road construction in Dar, Protea was not close to the airport, but well worth the drive! This is a top notch hotel! The unnamed hotel close to the airport in Dar is in poor condition; but Protea exceeded our expectations! The courtyard is beautiful with the tropical plants and swimming pool. The free breakfast had the most variety I have ever been offered at any hotel, from American food, to Dutch food, to local food, to Indian food. I have never seen such a huge buffet for breakfast!...

"I really enjoyed my stay. I booked it specifically for its location (Sunset, restaurants/bars by the ocean) and I was not disappointed. It's true there is music outside at night but with the AC on, I couldn't hear anything so it's not very high. Breakfast was OK. People were welcoming and accommodating.
