"The hotel and bathroom were both of a good size. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked well (hot water for a change!). The pool and pool area area were both quite small with only about 10-12 loungers available. The "private" beach across the road didn't seem private at all to me as there were many local people around. The food was average at best and the service was slow. It took almost 25 minutes to get a Greek salad and there samosas. We were there on a Saturday night and the music was blasting from the beach bars across the street from mid-afternoon onward. If you''re looking for some peace and quiet, this hotel probably isn't a good choice on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights."

"Very clean, relaxing, and amazing dining staff. Reception could use better training however. For example, I wanted to buy water outside the hotel and I was told the only place to buy water was a market two miles away. However while walking I passed by local street vendors selling water just a few yards from the hotel. Also hot water went out of my room on ky final night. I had to call for updates every few hours because reception never proactively updated me. Even when I was promised updates I never got one I even checked out without ever receiving an update on the issue. Dining staff needs to train reception. The dining staff comes to work with their A game. But reception is sleep at the wheel "

" The morning breakfast staff was amazing. The room was well-appointed and very clean. The restaurants on the property were excellent. Would highly recommend this hotel. Ocean view's were spectacular."

"White Sands Hotel is a fairly large and truly beautiful resort. Not for a single second did I regret choosing this property for my stay in Dar es Salaam. The entire complex is very clean and regularly well maintained, and the same can be said about the room. I appreciated having a refrigerator in the room; however, the overall equipment was rather basic — for example, there was no iron or hairdryer. That said, the balcony and the stunning sea view more than compensated for these minor shortcomings. Breakfast was excellent every morning, offering a wide selection of local, English, and continental options. I especially enjoyed the fresh fruit and freshly squeezed juices. The staff were very kind, friendly, and helpful throughout my stay. A small downside is the presence of crows, which won’t hesitate to snatch a bite from your breakfast or lunch if you leave your table unattended outdoors. Weekends can also be somewhat noisy due to social events such as weddings held at the resort, which might be slightly disturbing for some guests. That said, I would be very happy to return to this resort on my next visit to Tanzania."

The hotel restaurant offers a variety of delicious meals, all very well prepared and taste. It is the ideal hotel for a very relaxing stay and being by the beach front, it adds to the comfort stay for both work and vacation related trips "
