Beautiful property and friendly staff! It does have a resort fee that they add at the stay that we didn't feel was worth it, but would still stay again. Expedia offered wonderful prices when booking this boutique hotel. Would recommend!
Great hotel. We were upgraded to the one bedroom apartment. It had great views and walking distance to to beach. Staff was amazingly helpful. I wish we had another day there.
This hotel was perfect for a stay near Santa Monica. It is a classy old hotel with a wonderfully decorated lobby and gardens. The property is within walking distance from a lot of great stuff and dining. The staff was attentive and helpful. The valet parking was quick. Our room was fantastic and comfortable for hanging out.
This is a wonderfully timeless place to stay. Nestled in a residential neighborhood, it is close to great restaurants, shopping, and the beach. The rooms are classic and go with the "Old Hollywood" vibe. The only caution for guests is the parking. Residential parking permits are required almost everywhere in the area, and valet parking for the hotel is $65 a night (no in-and-out).
The hotel is a perfect distance from the crowds and craziness of the 3rd Street Promenade. East to walk to, but also in a nice residential area. Made us feel like we experienced what life is like there as a resident and not a tourist. The staff is attentive, amazingly friendly and helpful. We will certainly stay there again.
Nice, quaint ans quiet. Good food. Pleasant staff.

the property is old as expected, but not maintained well, chipping tile paint in the bathroom, stains on the rugs. it was very nicely decorated if that matters to you, however for a luxury boutique hotel the bed was very uncomfortable and the snack bar felt like an afterthought. parking is $65 for valet and 2 very long blocks down there is nonpermitted street parking. they let people come to the lobby and wfh during the day. additionally has that old property smell, unlike what you’d expect at a luxury boutique hotel.
Very cute historic boutique hotel. Lovely staff. Nice food menu including breakfast and quality coffee. Super close to the beach. As this is a historic hotel, it is a bit dated. Things like the carpet, the wear and tear in the bathroom etc. But is it comfortable. In the bathroom I would add a 2nd curtain so that it extends all the way around the tub for showering so you don’t get water everywhere. Salt & Stone bath products for the win.
Wow - what a fabulous hotel! We loved our stay at this beautiful, historic boutique-style hotel. The rooms are large with comfortable bed and so much space. Such a charming, quiet, leafy neighborhood - we slept soundly. The main lounge area is warm and cosy with its beautiful 1930s fireplace (with a real fire lit in cooler months), leather couches, a many books to borrow along with 3 booths along the side and a long, wooden table where you can bring your laptop and do your work or meet friends. The outdoor front garden is beautifully designed and maintained and there's a separate, well-kept outdoor courtyard garden to also enjoy. Added to this are free to use bicycles if you want to cycle to the many nearby cafes or take a ride along the paved beach path past the Santa Monica pier and over to Venice Beach. We'll definitely return to this wonderful hotel!

some spots on carpet / furniture but good value and character; need to communicate on maid service. would recommend overall
This hotel is a gorgeous gem within walking distance of the Santa Monica pier. I felt a peaceful presence from the moment I walked in and was quickly greeted by the hotel front desk gentleman. He took my luggage and walked it up the stairs before checking me into my room. He also generously upgraded my room because it was my first visit to the property. First class service all around. I cannot wait to return.

The hotel is classic. Old world charm. It felt like back in time. Although the property is clean, the smell was unbearable. It smells like pee everywhere, comparable to a nursing home. Room carpet needs an update. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. The best part were the staff. They were awesome and helpful especially Diné. He’s the best! Parking was also an issue. Only valet is available. Hotel is close to everywhere. Walking distance to the promenade, the beach and Santa Monica Pier. Safe area.
Lovely hotel. Great location. Unfortunately we booked a king size room and were placed in a queen room. Front desk obliged and moved us. Tiny shower with a plastic shower curtain didn’t match the vibe of the elaborate hotel. Be prepared to pay $65 for valet parking. There is zero street parking anywhere in Malibu without a permit. Valet Parking seems a little steep on top of your room rate.
The staff extended an extremely warm welcome and continued to go above and beyond to make sure our room and stay was wonderful! Truly continues to be our absolute favorite place to stay in Sanya Monica! Thank you so very much again, to Gavin and all the amazing staff! 🙏👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Highly recommend Valet parking right in front of hotel. Charming old historical railway station converted to hotel in pleasant garden setting a few blocks from the beach. Don’t expect updated furnishings. Lobby could use a bartender in evenings and optional earplugs for nonstop hotel stereo music from early am to late in evening.
Amazing, incredible amenities and comfortable bed. The hotel has so much character and we really enjoyed ourselves! Could've liked to have complementary water in the room, and not $13 dollar per bottle, but that was the only downside!
