A great one night stop
Lovely boutique hotel and gastro pub with plenty of parking. Very friendly staff throughout. Choice of themed rooms, each seemed to have their own unique features. The dinner and breakfast the next day were excellent. Highly recommended.

The themed rooms are a must, we stayed in the chocolate room and were spoilt with treats. We were celebrating a birthday and the birthday boy was given a balloon, beer and card, to make the event more special. The staff were friendly. The tasting menu was delicious and substantial. The breakfast was a must and worth staying over for. The little extra, the home made granola, yoghurt with fruit compote were an unexpected delight. We left with a homemade chilli jam.

When I booked the room on Hotels.com web site I paid for a Delux room like the picture. Unfortunately was given the James Bond themed room, awful. Bed very uncomfortable & not long enough. I will stay again but not in that room

Top quality with a family-friendly feel
We had a superb time at our recent family reunion - the staff were welcoming and really friendly, the accommodation was very comfortable with a few extra touches that made the stay memorable, and the food was excellent - both the evening meal and the breakfast. Highly recommended and will be returning for sure!

the food was outstanding,the service in the resteraunt was friendly and very efficient. I had the smallest room in the hotel as i was a single traveller and it was adequate--the other rooms for double occupancy looked very good.

When we arrived we were treated to an amazing upgrade to the champagne room and gifts free of charge to celebrate getting married. Amazing food, service and everything in between. We’ve been before and will continue to come again! Just gets better and better!

Great reception after long drive. Lovely sunny beer garden to wind down in. Stayed in the Chocolate Room which was a treat and so it was when opening a drawer to find it full of chocolate bars!! Food was good and plentiful

The room was perfect and the attention to detail was to be commended. Loved the food. The best oysters I've had in years. Excellent breakfast despite thinking the night before that i would never eat again. Friendly helpful staff. All in all a great stay and hope to be back in the not too distant future

We enjoyed our stay at the Wensleydale Heifer, where the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. However our room a Junior Suite was well appointed and clean but had a very bad smell of cooking at all times, to the point that our clothes smelt when we got home.

Great Hotel in the Yorkshire Dales.
Was recommended this hotel by my son. The staff were great and nothing was to much to help the guests. We stayed in the Black Sheep room. A great and quirky room.

Outstanding Gem in the Dales
Having read all the reviews my friend and I were so excited to be staying for two nights. We thought we would try somewhere different to our favorite place at Bolton Abbey and went with high expectations. Absolutely top class in EVERY respect. Outstanding friendly, helpful, but also kind staff, a real team feel and a team who are clearly happy and proud to work there. Great to have air con in the dining room and also to have options to sit out in the fantastic weather to eat and drink. Excellent food - extensive menu catering for all tastes. Wish we could have stayed longer. I had the James Bond room which was tasteful and good humored. So many little touches - having never met Alexa before having her in my room was a great way to try it out. Brilliant to find another outstanding hotel in the beautiful Dales. I then traveled on for a night at another alleged 'excellent' place but was very disappointed - they could learn a lot from the WH!

wonderful people at the Wensleydale Heifer. wonderful restaurant with a great breakfast and just as good place for evening dinner. Well situated for hiking in the Dales or touring the area. A small nit: it would be nice to have a pub-like sitting area to enjoy a beer.

1 night stay in Chocolate Room
We stayed in the Chocolate Room which was very comfortable but the cleaning in the bathroom wasn't great and had to ask for the toilet roll which had been placed on top of a dirty toilet brush to be removed together with the offending toilet brush. Dinner good in the restaurant but portions are huge. Maybe better to reduce portion sizes and prices a bit? Disappointing that the local Wensleydale Cheese does not feature in the menu or, very surprisingly, on the cheese board. Breakfast was a very high standard.
