"We walked to hotel from Waverley Rail station was 30 min walk. Get a taxi if got cases and bags. Lovely walk otherwise to Princes street. Can walk to town centre by side of river through Leith Gardens. Lovely walk. Hotel staff were quick to book us in. room was lovely, big, clean, tea coffee milk biscuits. Shower, hair and soap in bathroom. Shower curtain was spotlessly clean. Lovely big soft towels. We were overlooking the river which was nice. We had a very pretty lounge next to our room. Staff were very friendly and on hand for any questions or replenishment of room stuff. Didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment on that but smelt lovely when walking through main lobby. Would recommend this hotel, if able to walk okay but if unsteady on feet you would need to get a taxi ( plenty about) as hotel is down a very steep curvy road from main road to hotel at side of river. "

"Excellent property. No air conditioning or way to regulate room temp except a barely open window. The noise is big until 2 am because several bars across street and castle has military tattoo. Comfortable and adequate. They clean well but when we checked in the outside of our toilet had a small smear of stool. Thank goodness we had Clorox wipes"

"Lovely place. Staff where very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was lovely too also other meals were great Would recommend this holiday inn. My family and me would definitely stay here again. And bus stop outside the holiday inn to take you into Edinburgh and other places "

"This hotel is very convenient! Just down the block from a major tram and train transit center, a couple blocks down from the Royal Mile. The hotel had a comfortable, efficient, clean room space. The staff were friendly and efficient. "
