"Very clean & spacious property right on Lake Lure. Used their kayaks - sunned on top of the boat house - table & chairs to eat outside on covered patio overlooking the lake every morning with cofffeeGood location near a couple of restaurants and Piggly Wiggly grocery store. Would highly recommend"

"Mallard Cove was a fantastic Lake Lure getaway for our family of four. The house sits in a private, quiet cove where we could barely see the neighbors. The large covered porch was one of our favorite features—we spent many mornings there and loved sitting outside when rain showers rolled through. Incredibly relaxing!The large private dock was perfect for fishing and swimming. We rented from Lake Lure Boat Rentals, who delivered and picked up the boat directly from our dock, which was extremely convenient.The house is very spacious. The main level has an open kitchen, dining and living area leading to the covered porch. Downstairs are 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a media/game room with ping-pong/pool table, and direct access to the hot tub. Upstairs is a large private master suite with a huge bathroom and walk-in closet. The separation between floors worked great for our family.Making s'mores at the outdoor fireplace while stargazing was another highlight.The only consideration is the number of stairs, both inside and down to the water. This is common at Lake Lure and wasn't an issue for us, but could be challenging for some guests.We would absolutely stay at Mallard Cove again!"

"What an amazing home! Just spent a week here with my two teenagers. Absolutely beautiful! I started and ended my days on the private balcony off one of the master bedrooms. It was so cozy and relaxing looking at the water and reading and watching the sun go down. We used the SUP’s and watched the sunset while the fog rolled in one evening on the lake. The views were magnificent. The kitchen has everything you need to prepare and cook meals. The claw foot bathtub was a nice treat one evening after a storm. Plenty of closet space and dresser drawers for all our things. The beds are very comfortable and that’s saying a lot coming from me as I’m pretty particular when it comes to my sleeping comfort-I woke each morning feeling rested and ready to take on the day. We did venture out to Chimney Rock one morning and that was fun but honestly I could have just stayed at the house and been perfectly fine. Spent quite a bit of time on the lower outdoor deck and utilizing the lake floats and swimming in the little quiet cove. The luggage train was an unexpected luxury and absolutely adorable! We will be back! If you are looking for everything you could possible want and need for a lake getaway STAY HERE!"

"Our stay at Lake Lure was incredible! We caught so many fish from the house, bought floats to float and swim all day, grilled out for dinner and soaked up all of the lake life we could! A big bear even came by the house, plopped down to drink some lake water, and went on his way. There are a lot of stairs to and from the home to your car, but they are worth it! We had 3 of us stay here, two adults and one child, and it was perfect!"

"For the most part the house was very nice and every bit as described. However, there were some bumps: Our first night our plans needed to be quickly changed once we realized we had a Non working bbq and that ruined the 1st evening. We had no alternate meal plan there was a water leak in the lower level bedroom. Water on carpet in lower level bedroom for 2.5 days. Extremely inconvenient to my brother and his wife. The maintenance folks coming and going for 2 days. They were awesome, Nicole and Dawn were very professional but still. We had strangers around when we were trying to reconnect after 14 years of not seeing each other. The house itself was exactly as pictured. The area is beautiful. This was a family reunion and once we got past the bumps we had a great time. I'm hoping some sort of remedy is made."
