It was a very nice hotel, staff excellent and overall experience very good. It feels a bit dated and some areas need refurbishment. The roof terrace and pool on the roof very good. Ground floor pool a bit limited but you are only a few metres from the sea so not that important. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Great location clean but very tired. If you love to tea dance this is the place for you. This is not a young persons hotel.

Hotel was Good but 150 + kids on summer camp was making A lot of noice, svimming pool was almost not available due kids jumping into water splashing and running around. Staff was acting professional. For some days felt like we where a part of a summer camp. Nice hotel.

I really enjoyed our weeks holiday here. The half board option is fine, the food is good. The location of the hotel is fantastic, either laze by the pool, or walk across the road to the beach. All the staff there are friendly, i would stay there again 100 percent.

The view from the room was amazing. The position of the hotel was the best & easy to find all amenities, such as restaurants & cafes. The hotel has such potential because of its position but it is all looking a little tired.

Still had a great time :)
The room furniture are worn and weary, although the bed is firm it is comfortable and the room is always clean as it was done daily. The hotel charges for safe and fridge separately and no coffee and tea making facilities which is a shame. The breakfast buffet is great but on the hot food area, food are all soaking in oil even the vegetables which made it look unappetizing. I think it's a little bit overpriced for what to expect on a 4 star hotel but if you are looking for a location it's brilliant, it is very clean, ideal for relaxation as it is right on sea front, with a nice long promenade and it is close by so many good restaurants, shops and walking trails. So overall we were very pleased with our stay in this hotel.

great location (near beach and several restaurants. the front desk was helpful with internet access and with calling for cabs and accomodated our late (9 p.m.) check-in to meet our requests.

Enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Kaktus, which was referred to me by a local friend. First of all, as many other reviews have mentioned, it is a little dated. However, there are a few things going for the Hotel Kaktus: 1) location and 2) staff. The Hotel Kaktus is across the street from the beach and in the heart of L'Albir, which makes it incredibly convenient to restaurants, shops, and (of course) the beach. The staff is amazing, especially the front office staff. I accidentally left a bag on the tram, and the team called lost and found for me. The hotel is meticulously clean. If you're looking to stay in, there are a few caveats I'd give. First of all, the in-house entertainment is really not geared toward younger people (which is fine). As others have mentioned, a lot of retirees stay here, which is GREAT if you want a quiet holiday. Many of the balconies overlook the ocean, which was a great way to conveniently relax. However, I would also mention that it's also heavily utilized by smokers, so YMMV if you're a non-smoking asthmatic like myself. I also loved the fact that there was a kettle in the room, which I utilized heavily during my stay. I checked out the gym while I was there, and it wasn't anything to write home about. I ended up doing most of my exercise outside the building, so it wasn't as big of an issue for me. Overall, a solid stay, and really great value for the money.

As you mention, although our decor is vintage style, we work hard to keep our hotel clean, and we're happy to read that your perception has been like you explained. It also makes us happy reading that our staff has lived up to your expectations. The times in our restaurant are in the middle of "Too early" for Spanish customers and "too late" for our foreign visitors. In reference to the entertainment, we've live music and different kind of shows several nights per week, but it's true our entertainment is ideal for relax stays. Anyway there are several enteratinment options in the surroundings. El Albir area is indeed a good place for outdoor sports. We hope to see you back, Thanks again,

Fantastic hotel on the beach
Ideally located on the beach. Easy access to restaurants and town. Quiet. Long flat promenade for walking. Highly recommend this hotel.

Excellent location, good hotel.
This hotel is on a beautiful beach and promenade. Albir is a beautiful, quiet and very friendly area. From the location you can walk to the lighthouse and Altea. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel rooms are big but they do need updating and they don’t provide tea and coffee to go with the cups and kettle provided. Overall we had a lovely stay on a half board basis. Staff had our rooms ready 4 hours early and allowed us a late check out on departure which was excellent.

The only time our stay was less than ‘Very Good’ was at check in, when I had to pay for our room, despite it being pre~paid by Hotels.com. When I produced the paperwork later, it was immediately refunded, with profuse apologies.

We had a really good, chilled out stay at this hotel. In the winter months it is probably bested suited to an older age group or people who want a central base in the region. Huge buffet breakfast available. Evening meals are inexpensive, buffet style. Lots of food of an acceptable standard, but certainly not gourmet. The evening entertainment wasn't really to my taste but lots of the other guests seemed to enjoy it. The twin room that I stayed in had two small double beds and a large seating area with a corner sofa and table. Facilities included a tv, tea making facilities, phone and hair dryer. Roof top sun terrace has great views. The swimming pool isn't huge but is fine for a cooling swim.

Nice hotel perfect position on the beach
Friendly reception, quick check in. Hotel room large and comfortable. No English TV which isn't unusual for Spain but as they ave German I really do not see why they cannot have at least one channel. Food in restraurant poor. Often cold ,,do not feel I should have to use a micro wave to heat my dinner/breakfast up. Drinks reasonable price in restraurant and bar. Entertainment poor. Price for half board reasonable enough for just the room so not worried about the food and ate out often.
