Hotel and staff were really great, they let us check in early as room was available, they kept our luggage next day after check out time so we could explore around, rooms are spacious. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at this hotel.
Amazing little hotel close to Kyoto station. Very nice rooms and great service. It’s a nice mix of modern luxuries with some traditional features. Not an issue for us but we didn’t know about the accommodation tax that we had to pay when we checked in. It wasn’t a lot and it goes to keeping the city maintenance but we didn’t know about it till we got there.
The hotel is not in the busy area but there are enough restaurants around and not too far to walk to Kyoto station so I think it’s good option for travelers. The rooms are very clean and large, very good for families.
Not an easy way to pull up to hotel; parking for the hotel is around the corner. The restaurant was beautiful and the food was excellent, service was slow.
Location is great, next to Kyoto aquarium and a nice park. Staff are all very nice and helpful, also English friendly. Some of the floor mattresses for the tatami room and pillows were heavily stained but other than that everything was nice and clean.
Excellent hotel with great location and exceptional service and people! We had spacious room with huge bed and fantastic bathroom. Great quality to price ratio as well! Highly recommended!
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Banister Kyoto. The location was perfect – central and with easy access to Kyoto Station, making it very convenient to get around. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist.
The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and modern, with a great bathroom. We had a small issue with the hot water at first, but the staff quickly resolved it.
Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and would definitely recommend Hotel Banister Kyoto to other travelers.
Very nice hotel and comfortable stay. Good accommodating for luggages storage before/after checkin. Too bad the breakfast required reservation and there wasn't much restaurant to close by. Close-by To-ji, train museum and aquarium.
Super quiet room. Could not even hear the train from ours.

The property itself was okay.
The hotel itself was very quiet and staff weren’t always around. At times it felt like a ghost hotel.
The room itself was spacious, with a nice bathroom. However, there wasn’t any cupboard space, the space I don’t think was used efficiently as it could have been.
It is the first hotel I’ve ever been too around the world that doesn’t change your bed… I stayed 5 days and they don’t change the sheets at any point.
They do come in to change the bins replace the item of clothing- the gown they provide.
Staff were polite but there wasn’t any information about their restaurant or local area handed out.
Would I stay here again? No.
The property had plenty of room for our family and with our luggage. It is a short walk from the Kyoto Station (10-15 minutes). There are several 7-11's located in the area so you can grab food/drinks. The hotel also has a restaurant/bar located in the lobby/common area.
The staff was friendly and assisted us with any questions we had. They provided us with amenities such as toiletries, fresh towels daily, and water. The rooms are newer and the bathroom was new and had a nice shower/tub. We really enjoyed the space, we have stayed at plenty of hotels throughout Japan and this room had more room than other places which helps when you are traveling with a family.
Tge neighborhood was quiet which was nice not hearing the cars and city life. We would stay there again.
Small space for family of 4 to stay. We had to store away table to be able to sleep. Not much counter top space inside bath to keep our bath items.
Front desk staffs were very friendly.
I wanted to give this place a perfect review, because the room was quite cozy and very beautiful. Unfortunately, my party and I discovered a roach in our room not even within 30 minutes of us getting situated. I understand that mistakes happen, unfortunately this was one that definitely threw a wrench in our overall enjoyment of our stay. I will say, however, the location was pretty and not too bad of a walk from Kyoto’s main train station.
Staff were very friendly and helped us store our luggage for us before check in time. Our room was very spacious and clean. The bed and pillows were comfortable and there was also Netflix available (Japanese only but you can select Eng subtitles). Downside is that there is nothing in the area so you need to spend quite a bit of time travelling to the tourist attractions. Also it is also located near a train track and the windows are thin so you can hear trains running if you’re a light sleeper.
Absolutely loved the location and room we stayed in! Short walk from Kyoto Station, lots of Family Mart , 7-Eleven and Lawsons nearby! Also walkable to many other dining options. If youre adventurous like my husband and I were, we walked to Nishiki Market and Fushimi Inari and got lost in the beauty of Kyoto !
The room was quiet and surprisingly being by the train tracks, we barely heard them pass by!
The staff were so excellent with food/sightseeing suggestions and even helped us figure out how to work the shower LOL !!! We are from Canada and used to just turning the tap on and adjusting the heat. This bathroom has a keypad for the room hot water/shower/bath we couldn't figure out! The staff were so sweet when we went to ask how to work the hot water and bathroom tablet!
I would definitely stay here again during our next Japan trip!
I didn’t expect this place to be as amazing as it was my only regret is is that we stayed at other places in Kyoto. This place is no joke, it’s utterly amazing
