"We stayed in the room with the open air bath and it was a beautiful room. The open air bath was worth it with a view of the famous gate. The staff was amazing and so respectful. The location was close to the shrine and shops and not far from the rope pull to go to top of mountain. Highly recommend this hotel! "

"Good things: great location (we walked most places), clean and the host was very responsive anytime i had a question. The check in was also very easy with great instructions. Not so great: tiny!! Maybe thats normal for japanese apartments, but it was difficult to move around with bags open and there was very limited surface space to put things. The bathroom was also challenging, the shower isnt over the bath unless you hold the nozzle. Very workable though and the bed was comfortable wasnt...
