"Ideal location above the shopping center. Easy check-in and the room was clean. Had trouble finding the location as there are no signs but once I read the property details in the booking it clearly said where to park and how to get there."

"This is an older hotel, traditionally run. You will interact with human beings checking in, checking out, etc. Western breakfast is mini ( very mini) omelets, French fries, decent coffee and weak orange juice. You’ll have to pay to watch western content on TV. Our room was spacious by Japanese standard, but the bathroom was cramped."

"I've stayed in a few Tokoyo Inn properties, and this has also delivered its standard. I like how simple and clean the rooms are - amenities available at lobby to take, and the free breakfast is always a highlight of the stay because nothing beats waking up to a nice warm cooked meal. I'll always recommend Toyoko Inn to others!"

"The room was clean however you can’t check in early, which is something you should note if you arrive before three. There is no included breakfast. There are a lot of stairs within the actual room itself, which is a trip hazard in the middle of the night. We checked out a day early as the bed was very uncomfortable and very low to the ground. "

We didn't worry about the hot baths. The only real negative was the minimal space for suitcases. This wasn't popular with my travelling companions."

"Very nice hotel - everything was great although the quad room with 4 beds is best for 4 people, not six. We were travelling with kids but the beds were a bit narrow (they’re basically sized in between a single and a double). Worked out okay as we’re small people. The room was very nice though!"

"Great hotel to stay in Kumamoto. It's near the Kumamoto castle, Sakura-no-baba Josaien and the sakuramachi shopping centre. The hotel has a lot of on-site amenities such as a public bath and a restaurant. Staff are helpful and attentive."
