We booked an Executive Club room for the perks of having the Executive Club Lounge and better room quality.
The room had an unpleasant smell coming from the air conditioning. The room itself was a good size and looked out over the to the cruise terminal. However the bed was extremely hard (even though we like a firm mattress) and the decor was dated and had seen better days (especially the finishes in the bathroom). A coffee machine was provided however without any capsules (which they advertised as HK$20 each).
The biggest con and negative was the Executive Club lounge. This was not a lounge, but a small cornered off area in the pub on the ground floor. During the day there were a few cans of soft drink in the fridge and a few leftover pastries from breakfast. We were told that between 5-8pm there was a cocktail hour with hot food, however when we went back and asked about the hot food, the member of staff walked us to the empty hot plates, then looked confused, went off to the kitchen before coming back to say no hot food. As for alcoholic drinks there were a couple of bottles of spirits and can of beer. It was very depressing. Breakfast the next morning was simple and lacking for an Executive Club (hard boiled eggs/beans/sausage), with bread to toast. The few small pastries were not fresh and had come out of packets. The jug of juice was long life concentrated juice. Tables weren’t cleared or cleaned from previous guests (no staff around).
Upon checkout I complained abo
