"Great location, super modern and clean, staff was very friendly and even had a birthday card for my daughter and let us use a Polaroid camera to make memories. They saw us dressed up in kimonos and came outside to take pictures of us. Even told us where to pose so you could see the beautiful temple in the background. Overall, this was a beautiful place and I would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend"

"Great location, lovely amenities, very nice room (we went for the higher value room). The hotel gives excellent value for money. It is located centrally, so has a number of tourist attractions within walking distance (eg the Kyoto Tower, number of gorgeous temples, interesting bazaars etc). There are many restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance and all are very good quality. The beauty of Kyoto is that it’s on a human scale, so even in the city centre there are small quiet roads, normal houses etc. You get to enjoy all this staying in this hotel. The staff are nice, but apart from one or two (eg Sano at reception) their English makes communication a little challenging at times. The on site amenities eg washer dryer (for a nominal fee) and microwave makes life easier. The lounge area with free hot and cold drinks is always good after returning from a lot of walking. There are many access points to public transport (buses in particular, but also the tube) with excellent connections to sights and shopping areas. The fares are very reasonable, but the occasional taxi ride what cost you much either, as it’s a small city and the hotel’s location is so central. We didn’t try their breakfast, because we prefer just a light meal in the morning, but they provide Japanese and western style breakfast options, for a reasonable price. I’d recommend this hotel anytime for a short or long stay (we were there for 7 days)."

Staff was extremely friendly and ensured we were comfortable. Room had air conditioning and the bed/pillows were more comfortable than my own. Close to Kyoto Station which saved us time and energy which you would need to travel any places you planned to visit/hike. Would stay here again."

Every member of the team was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely helpful. They always took the time to chat with us and made us feel valued as guests. On more than one occasion, when we were completely lost trying to navigate the transport system and find our destination, the staff went above and beyond to help us work out the best route and ensure we got where we needed to go. Their kindness, patience and dedication to customer service made a lasting impression on us and played a huge part in making our Kyoto trip so enjoyable.
