"The room was mostly clean and well kept, although compact. Tea and instant coffee provided. Room was refreshed every day, fresh towels etc. We were on the 5th floor and had the most beautiful view of the castle and were treated to the sounds and sights of the Military Tattoo by night. Staff were fine, working in Edinburgh in August obviously takes its toll! One mature gentleman, in a blue shirt was hugely friendly and went above and beyond for us during our stay. The pool was compact but okay, nice little sauna too. A good way to unwind after a day exploring the city. We really enjoyed the nearby cafes and bars. So didn’t make use of the restaurant or bar in the hotel. Our stay was very expensive, to be expected in Edinburgh in August."

"Space was beautiful and clean! Being on the water is also nice. This was the nicest place we stayed on our trip! The host was great although we didn't need much. This is not in a "tourist" area so it's very quiet, but the coastal trail runs through here. Castle ruins basically next door."
