"Tap and pay doesn't work. No problem with the system apparently. Taxi driver told us it is a signal blackspot. Water from room taps is nonpotable. Single bottle of water provided for two people for hot drinks and cold drinks - make your choice. Two main staff - one smiling and helpful. One clearly views you as an inconvenience. Not much choice locally but think carefully."
"What an excellent overnight stay we had.
Very informative helpful staff on check in .
Room was small but it was only 1 night so was fine.
We had the dinner and stargazing package.Main course of Sunday roast was not hot I’m afraid .
The rest of the meal was delicious as was breakfast the next day.
Stargazing experience amazing ! Needed a reminder about how to enter the hotel afterwards at 12.30 !"
"The manager seva absolutely makes this hotel , from The moment we opened the door to leaving , nothing was to much trouble , his breakfasts are cooked to order and to perfection.
Hotel itself could do with some updating and the kitchen isn't open for evening meals , this is a hotel that's not in walking distance to any restaurants , seva recommend a Indian restaurant that could deliver and it was gorgeous, so make sure your prepared
The hotel was perfect for us as we were on the motorbike and theres some beautiful roads and scenery
Behind the hotel are some self contained cabins ( not part of the hotel ) and behind those is a beautiful area with a pond and picnic tables
We would absolutely go back to this hotel
Parking is at the side of the hotel , the hotel is up a tree lined drive way and not once did we worry about the bike."
"It’s a lovely property been 4 times now 10 mins short journey to tweedbank railway you can get the train to Edinburgh about 40mins we have travelled all over about 2 hour radius found some lovey places plenty of parking check out there website Dryburgh Abbey hotel there is also a ruined abbey in the grounds but you have to pay to look worth doing "
"We had a warm and friendly welcome, the food was excellent, the service excellent, friendly and super helpful both evening and at breakfast. The staff are certainly the stars of the show.
The room was clean along with a generous bathroom. We found the mattress uncomfortable but may have been heaven to others. Yes, the property is a little dated but suited our needs. The location was convenient on the A68 in a quiet village peaceful setting next to a pretty river.
This pub was also very dog friendly, dogs allowed in bar for mealtimes, with lots of wee walks around to keep the pups happy. It was great value for money, this was my second stay and would go back again, it’s a great half way B & B to Aberdeen."
"On arrival staff at desk friendly and helpful. Food in restaurant was excellent as was our cocktails. Restaurant staff were very accommodating. Good quality breakfast on both days. We were happy with our room (16) although there was motorway noise they had excellent double glazing. One negative was noise from upstairs bedroom. We were kept awake until five in the morning! Someone seemed to be walking round, maybe they couldn’t sleep ( it was hot) When I reported this to reception next day the young lady told us there was nothing she could do. As there were no other rooms available to swap. A small gesture of maybe food or drink credit would have been nice, as the noise did spoil our first night. Nothing was offered."
