About this property

A lovely 3 bed bungalow and relaxing place to stay whilst enjoying your holiday

  • Pinecroft is a lovely 3 bedroom, detatched bungalow furnished in an eclectic style of contemporary and traditional to create a relaxing environment for all to enjoy after a day on the fells or just staying in and reading a good book. Owner enjoys collecting original art with many paintings to enjoy. Accommodation consists of large open plan kitchen / diner with lots of natural light and stunning views, large living room with log effect gas fire, 2 double and one single bedroom, master bedroom has a small ensuite with shower and the main bathroom has a lovely, highest quality steel bath and a large 'walk in' shower. A regular comment from many guests is that Pinecroft feels like a home. Pinecroft is not overlooked and outside you will find a long driveway providing for ample parking. In Nov 2025 a NEW Electric Vehicle charger has been installed. There are mature gardens all around with large patio areas on different levels. There is a purpose built BBQ area and also a bike shelter with secure anchor points. There are a few water features including a lovely fish pond which is less than 3' deep and surrounded by shrubs. Views from the patio and the dining room are wonderful as you look west over Keswick to towards Grisedale Pike where the sun sets. In November 2023 we created a large level patio area that extends from the driveway up to and around the property, this is a major improvement with beautiful new slip resistant paving making the access step free (see photo's) and much easier for those with mobility concerns. plus plenty and a variety of seating areas to enjoy. The main garden / patio area gets afternoon and evening sunshine.

    Reviews..... Please note that over the last 18 months PC has been in the hands of a local letting agency called Keswick Cottages. They are nolonger being used. Vrbo reviews are prior to this time however guests can be assured that recent reviews have all been highly complimentary.

    Transport... Conveniently and just about 100 meters away is a bus stop where you can catch a bus to take you into town or alternatively walking along the old railway line (now a footpath) is about a 20 minute walk. Abit further down and around the corner there is another bus stop for those wanting a day trip to the South Lakes, Ambleside etc.

VERY IMPORTANT: Main pond is a fragile eco environment with large fish. Under NO circumstances must any person or dog climb onto or enter the pond.

Clean, quiet location in Keswick. Nicely furnished. Easy access to walking in the Lake District and a 20-25 minute walk from town center, which is a great option when the roads are choked with traffic.

Wonderful stay at Pinecroft

We absolutely loved staying at Roger’s home in Keswick! The three of us had plenty of room, all of the amenities we needed, and a beautiful garden courtyard to spend time together. It is a nice walk on a footpath to town, and a short distance to the Castlerigg Stone Circle. Roger was very helpful and gave us great recommendations for our stay in this gorgeous area. We hope to get back there again!

Lovely property just on the outskirts of Keswick, an easy walk to the pubs and shops along the old railway line. The bungalow is spacious and a teal home from home, very comfortable!

Winter break in the Lakes!

A wonderful cozy, clean and very well equipped bungalow! Took in-laws with mobility problems and the access and walk in shower was great. Roger was quick and easy to communicate with and met us to explain everything for check in. Had a fantastic few days in the Lakes.....just breathtaking as always!!

Glorious Lakeland retreat

Absolutely gorgeous bungalow, perfectly situated for strolling into Keswick and with glorious views out of (almost) every window. Perfect for people with access needs and extremely comfortable. Roger the owner is friendliness and charm itself snd makes you feel very welcome.

Loved the property and location and the owner of the property was very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed our stay immensely. Only problem with the holiday was being able to communicate with the property management company as they could not contact us as they had wrong email information. It did not matter in the end as we spoke to the property owner and he was very helpful and obliging.

Couldn’t have been better. The property had everything you could need. We loved the well stocked board game cupboard and sky tv! It was really clean & cozy. The garden space looked lovely - unfortunately we arrived in December so couldn’t enjoy it but I imagine in summer it would be perfect. Good views from the property. It’s about 15 minute walk into Keswick, but a few minutes drive. We will definitely book again!

Beautiful Cottage in Keswick, Lake District

On arrival we were greeted by the owner who gave us some helpful information about the cottage and surrounding area. We stayed here for 6 nights whilst on a hiking trip. The directions to the cottage were spot on and the cottage itself was clean with good facilities especially for walkers/cyclists as there was an outside area for bikes and muddy shoes, clothing. The cottage had a washer/dryer, wifi, sky, good basic equipment in the kitchen and the bedrooms were clean and very comfortable. The bathroom had a lovely shower and bath tub too. Keswick is just a 20 minute walk/5minute drive and the views surrounding the cottage were stunning. This was a great area central to everywhere we visited and there were good facilities in the town including supermarket, nice pubs/cafes and shops. We would definitely stay again.

Wonderful stay in Keswick

We had a great stay in Keswick at this property. The house is a short walk from the centre of the town and also near an entry point into the Keswick to Threlkeld cycle path which is a great walk along the river and away from from the traffic. The property was just what we needed. Well equipped, spacious and with a good outside space which was used as we had some good weather. The front of the house is near a main road, but sitting in the lounge at the back you couldn’t hear any road noise. The drive way at the back of the house has plenty of space (could probably fit 4 standard sized cars) so parking for the 2 cars we had was ample. Lovely property, would certainly look to rebook here if/when we head back to The Lakes. Communication with the owner when needed was first rate.

Fantastic Property

Despite the rain we had a fantastic time in this excellent property. Well equipped and maintained professionally. My wife has limited mobility and was able to move around the property using sticks and a walker with no issues. The large bathroom has a walk-in shower which she could easily use with a shower seat as she was able to walk right up with the walker. There is seating outside on the patio which is also accessible and a shallow slope from the drive to the property. The surrounding area is stunning and we didn’t need to travel too far to find places to visit. Keswick Pencil Museum, Theatre by the Lake, Derwent Water and the railway walk were very close and well worth a visit. The owner was easily contactable and flexible with our checking out time which was really helpful. Highly recommended.

Perfect place to stay in the Lakes

Lovely bungalow which gives a home from home feeling, the owner Roger met us at the property when we arrived and was very informative. Ideal for visiting different places in the area and also lovely walks straight from the door. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it as a place to stay.

Great Place to Stay

Pinecroft was perfect for our time in Keswick, for exploring the lakes and fells around Derwent Water and the Buttermere Valley. A quiet location within a 15-20 minute walk of the town centre, Pinecroft was clean, spacious and well equipped, and it has great views across the fells north and west of Keswick.
