The best area to stay in Kalámion is along Kalámion Beach, particularly the stretch between the harbour and the eastern headland.

This area is the heart of Kalámion's visitor experience. It's a linear settlement built along the coastline, with the main road, Leoforos Kalámion, running parallel to the beach. You'll find most of the village's tavernas, cafes, and shops situated directly on or just off this road, all offering easy access to the clear waters. The small harbour on the western side provides a focal point and is where you can often find local fishing boats.

For couples seeking a relaxing beach holiday with good food and scenery, this area is perfect. You can enjoy strolls along the shore, dine at beachfront tavernas with sea views, and have direct access to boat trips or swimming. The convenience of having everything within walking distance means you can truly unwind.

Families will also find this stretch of Kalámion Beach very suitable. The calm, shallow waters are ideal for children, and many accommodations here offer family-friendly amenities.

The best time to visit Kalámion is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from late April to early June and again from September to October.

During these months, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, ideal for exploring the island without the intense heat of mid-summer. You'll find the sea warm enough for swimming, and the natural beauty of the area, like the olive groves and coastal paths, is at its peak. This period also avoids the busiest crowds, offering a more relaxed experience.

Couples looking for a romantic and tranquil escape will particularly appreciate these times. You can enjoy quiet dinners by the sea, stroll along less crowded beaches, and explore traditional villages at a leisurely pace. The atmosphere is calm and offers a ideal setting for a peaceful holiday.

Families travelling with children will also find the shoulder seasons appealing. The milder temperatures are more comfortable for little ones, and popular attractions will be less busy, making for a more enjoyable day out.
