"Motel was clean and the front desk girl was awesome! She was very helpful and informative. Our room had a balcony over looking the court yard. Quiet. Rooms were recently updated. I found a hidden gem about 10 minutes away. The Elephant Seal Vista Point. Absolutely amazing i went about 7 a.m. I was the only one there. I would definitely stay here again. Restaurants within walking distance. "

"It was our first time to Big Sur and we had the best experience. Thanks to the hospitality of the Lodge starting with the information on their website and info links they emailed prior to our stay. I am glad I read it so that we took advantage of the free park passes. We stopped in and knew we were early and our room wasn't ready yet for check-in but they offered us a temporary pass and we went to Andrew Molera State Park Beach. Katelynn and those at check in were over and beyond helpful. When we did go back to check-in, I thought I booked a fireplace room but I must not have. They offered one to us but we actually decided to stay in the original room they offered without fireplace, we liked the layout better with a front and back door and back deck. I recommend a room with a back deck. The room was large, clean, and comfortable- I wasn't expecting 4 star but more glamping and my expectations were exceeded. Although, the bed is very firm and the shower area does have some small mold areas, I was still happy with the accommodations inside of a state park and among the redwoods. There was a mini-fridge, a game of clue, and an old school wall heater that worked well. At check-in they also provided an area map, local restaurants, and a list of places to visit. We found this super helpful and visited all of their suggestions. Note: there is a trail from the cabins down to the lodge. Con: the restaurant the night we were there ran out of many menu items with no alternatives. "

"Our stay was excellent. The evening we arrived, the sun was shining, and no over cast. There was some wind, but it was a warm beautiful breeze. We walked along the bluffs and watched the sun go down. The staff was exceptional. We enjoyed or stay so much, that we plan stay there again. "

"The staff were all amazing. The small room, though dated without a microwave, was clean & comfy with a little balcony & prerry view of grassy area. I believe all rooms face pool. There is an attached dining/ bar, 500 feet from thr rooms & a small market. What was unfortunate- was the screen door, was all ripped up & broke off track ( we did a temp fix ourself for our stay, holiday weekend- shorthanded maintenance )- staff).... The food in restaurant was very good. One downside, for breakfast, on the 5th of July- they had 0 fruit! Now, this is a coastal town- 30 min from Paso Robles, an agricultural area, so that was frustrating. But then, we walked to the convenience store - next door where they had fresh apples, oranges & bananas. Idk, but - At any rate- really overall, the rest of our 2 nights ( cold, windy- 50 degree summer) was very nice. You may not get in a lot of warm sunbathing or swim time, unless cold swimming is your thing- but there are lots of walking trails a few miles down the beach. "
