We were able to check in upon arrival. Front staff was excellent. Room was small (typical size for Europe) but clean and comfortable. Good location for walking downtown and restaurants. A couple of blocks. From the river.
A great experience all round at this hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room and all facilities were extremely clean. Location is also perfect. Only suggestion would be that the tv was a bit small. Highly recommend this hotel.
Visited Budapest over a weekend. After reading other reviews mentioning that the hotel is on a busy road, I requested a quiet room and was grateful to be given one at the back of the building. Room was spacious and clean but found the beds to be on the small and soft side. Also bedsheets were very worn so did not feel like it served much purpose. Coffee and tea facilities in the reception area. Location is good. Easy to get to from airport and we walked everywhere - to the Buda side, to the bathhouse, Parliament house and along the river.
Well-located in the heart of the city, this Budapest central hotel offers charming 3-star accommodation within walking …More
The hotel was clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were really nice and polite, also very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them.
Breakfast was quite good for a buffet style breakfast, food and drinks were constantly being topped up. Even though it was self service it was staffed so was always someone there to help you if you needed anything.
The location was great, quite a few restaurants and cafes around, had something for everyone. There wasn't many lively bars around or places to drink past 12, which i suppose is either a positive or negative depending what you are looking for. The hotel bar is open 24 hours, which is very quiet and was hardly used when i stayed there, (in May).
Good location, very helpful staff and nice clean room. Would class more as an upmarket hostel rather than a hotel as no hotel facilities as such. It is just a building with 6 bedrooms but no other facilities. Breakfast vouchers are provided for a bar a 5 to 10 minute walk away and the food there was good. I had read on trip advisor that the hotel is quite hard to find although our taxi found it straight away. There is no large sign with the hotel name and the enter through a very large wooden door and on entering it is quite dingy looking. There are 2 flights of steps and a lift. All in all if you are looking for just a base which is clean and cheap with friendly staff then it's the ideal place. If you want a hotel with facilities then this wouldn't be suitable.
We stayed in the Iberostar Grand Hotel Budapest for 4 nights and from start to finish the staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is immaculate and the room was stylish and spacious with a huge comfortable bed and views over the square. The location is great for sightseeing and for restaurants, with plenty of high quality places to eat a short walk away. Overall I can highly recommend staying here if you want to visit Budapest in style.
