Spectacular Villa sleeping 12, Large private Pool, 9 km South of Florence City

A 15th century Romantic Holiday Home, the ideal venue for your family and friends in a relaxing and inspiring atmosphere, tradition and charm. Antique furnishings, modern appliances; an exquisite achievement of harmony and comfort.
Villa MURGIANO is only 9 km from Florence - a mere 20 minute’s drive on paved roads.
Ample car-park, remote-controlled property Gates.
As you come down the drive you enter a dream world. A backdrop of green hills, a charming, fully refurbished, historic house set like a jewel in its working 80 acre Farm Estate - 360° views of its vineyards, olive groves, and woods as you comfortably sample its products from gazeboed patios & garden.
Hardly a recent artefact to be seen: the surroundings are manicured by the toil of Farmers, into the pristine scenario you take in as you come down the drive or go out on your morning walks.
Following the extended national vaccination campaign the Italian Covid-19 pandemic regulations have been relaxed. Nonetheless we provide due sanitation between Guest departures and arrivals.

Opposite MURGIANO stands a historic, 15th century Medici Villa, the residence of Katia’s Family since 1643. Private events occur in its beautifully frescoed reception rooms.

Villa MURGIANO’s Guests are usually met by Caterina (Katia for short).
The adjoining FATTORIA DI MEZZOMONTE is her Farm Estate producing Wines, Grappa, Extra-virgin Oive Oils, Aromatic Vinegar, and Honey, in compliance with Tuscan tradition.
MURGIANO is approx. 4 km from its nearest villages i.e., Gràssina and Impruneta – both feature grocery shops and small supermarkets, ATMs, pharmacies, restaurants. Impruneta is renowned for its terracotta handcrafts decorating splendid gardens and historic villas.
Villa MURGIANO sleeps up to 10 Adults & 2 teenagers; the latter simply love the 2floor tower Bedroom with its view. The adults have a choice of 4 Bedrooms each with its bathroom en-suite, 1 twin Bedroom with adjoining Bathroom; this is the 5th, large Bathroom shared with the Tower Bedroom.
There are 2 Studies, 2 Dining/Living-rooms, 2 Kitchens (you select your favourite one for the length of your stay), a Porticoed dinner-table for 12 with a Pizza Oven, a BBQ shaded area, 2 Patios with 3 furnished gazebos, a large open air Terrace. Last but not least, a Private, beautifully landscaped 12 mt x 6 mt Infinity-edge outdoor swimming-pool.
You can reach the Swimming-pool area in a wheel-chair and move around the patios via the indoors ramp. Indeed, both ground-floor bedrooms are directly accessible in a wheelchair through the North Terrace and Study room.
The West, ensuite Showeroom is designed for Guests with disabilities.
One indoor step leads from the above area up into the adjoining central living-room/kitchen.
All the outdoor living spaces feature comfortable Gazebos. The outdoor Portico offers a cozy open air dining area in every season.
Aircon is available in all 6 bedrooms and in the upstairs common rooms. The uper Kitchen and 4 Bedrooms, in addition, have ceiling fans.
For increased, indoor temperature comfort, all the windows have shutters, to screen off the daylight glitter and high temperatures as much as the winter cold.
Mosquito window nets are present.
A generous provision of electric anti-mosquito devices is provided. However, Guests are well advised to wear mosquito protection, especially in the evening hours - young Guests in particular!

Villa MURGIANO dates back from the 15th century: Terracotta roofs Tuscan style, restful beamed ceilings, thick walls. Some indoor walls are plastered and white-washed, others interestingly display their natural stone and brick facing.
A real challenge in this appealing, ancient architecture is the Wi-fi: available so far on a combination of optical & copper fibre.
All the Bedrooms feature light coloured parquet floors; so does the upstairs Loggia. All the other common rooms display the typically Tuscan polished Terracotta.
2 large, electric awnings provide additional comfort: along the front air-conditioned Loggia on the upper floor & over the groundfllor West French door.
The Portico is a perfect exemple of Renaissance architecture, with its charming Romanesque arches and ancient, round domed Pizza Oven and table for 12 - evening meals al fresco, lunch snacks in colder months.

END OF DESCRIPTION.
WERE YOU TO READ ANY FURTHER, THE FOLLOWING IS AN EVEN MORE DETAILED ACCOUNT OF EACH FLOOR

The Upper floor - known to Owner and Staff as "PALAGIO".
A central Study room leads into the 3 bedrooms and one bathroom; up 11 steps is the teenager'sTower Bedroom . It is level with a double door for the spacious front Loggia. Here are a dinner table for 8, the card-playing table, a sofa in a comfortable lounging replenished with art books, and, needless to say, a charming view from its lined up indows.
The large, cozy Winter Kitchen has a hearth & damper, two Carrara marble tops, 2 tables and 8 chairs. Both ceiling fan and aircon make make for added comfort to your cooking classes.
Down the 15th c. flight of 11 steps, opposite PALAGIO's entrance, is the cloak-room for coats, golf clubs, etc.; AND an electric clothes dryer - an appliance easily dispensed with under the Tuscan sky, in favour of outdoor washing lines (pegs on washing machine top).

The Ground-floor - known to Owner and Staff as "SALABETTA"
3 steps down from PALAGIO, also accessible directly from French door West.
Furnishings include an elegant oval dinner table and period chairs seating 8/10, 2 comfortable sofas with coffee table and a long, L-shaped wood and marble cooking counter complete with crockery, pans and all the facilities to prepare beautiful meals (microwave, coffee makers, dishwasher, ventilated oven, etc.)

SWIMMING POOL IS 6X12 METRES & SWINGS
The "crowning glory", from my view-point, is MURGIANO's large, private swimming-pool, soon to be covered up for mid-season comfort. It is currently open from early April to late October, accessed by a gate in its landscaped hedge. A refreshing sight from the upper floor, a reminder of your day's end as you sip an evening drink on the terrace, look forward to while visiting sights or running errands. Immaculate water, and an overflow edge to blend you into the green hills beyond. A sun warmed shower stand to be used befor dipping, individual Towels under the pool's gazebo. Adjoining the Pool area is the children's playground with 2 swings and one more relazing gazebo.
Adults please monitor your children (under twelves cannot play in the pool area unattended). Also please ensure that both pool gates are properly closed at all times, for children's and pool safety at all times.

ELLECTRIC POWER
This is exhorbitantly expensive throughout Italy, along with Methane Gas for heating and cooking (the large size kitchen ovens are electric).
AVOIDING WASTEFULNESS is greatly appreciated by Owner and ENVIRONMENT!

BARBEQUE
A basic, charcoal fuelled type. You can roll it out from the roof covered lounging area. Acessories in PALAGIO's cloak-room. Please replace the charcoal with a full bag from the supermarket for the next Guests.

Amazing stay in Tuscany
We had a fantastic stay at Villa Murgiano. The Villa is conveniently located within 30 minutes of Florence amidst stunning olive and grape groves. We had a large group of extended family (11 adults) and everyone felt they had enough privacy and space to spread out. There are many spots, indoors and outside, to gather to eat, read, have a coffee, play games, etc. Katia is a fabulous host and gave us many suggestions on places to visit, park, and activities. Her suggestion on a private chef was excellent and made our last night at the villa extra special. We only wish we had more time to spend there. We'll definitely be back for another stay!

Exquisite Property
Villa Murgiano is truly spectacular! The property is breathtaking. The Villa is gorgeous. There were 9 of us staying at the property for 10 days. We had ample space and bathrooms. We never felt cramped. The kitchen is well equipped for making meals. Every room is clean and tidy. Ample towels were provided as well as pool towels. The pool was heavenly on a hot Florence day. The host is gracious and welcoming. She is also easy to communicate with. I would absolutely recommend staying at Villa Murgiano. I would love to stay again myself!

Family stayed outside Florence in authentic Italian villa. Excellent property for families from the pool, A/C and included amenities. Our host Katia was great and helped with transportation, chefs for meals, and tour options of the surrounding area. I would highly recommend and would book again.

Stunning villa with a most hospitable host
The villa is beautifully maintained and has been updated without losing any of its charm. Our ages ranged from 4 to 74 and the villa had something for everyone in our family. The first floor was wheelchair accessible and the top floor was a perfect nook for the kids playing hide-and-seek. The grounds and the views are breathtaking - there are so many different spaces to relax, on your own or with others, and just take it all in. Katia was a wonderful host. She was responsive and communicative before and throughout our stay. She helped us make arrangements for a chef and driver for our airport transportation before our arrival. There were unseasonable heavy rains and thunderstorms during our visit, yet her staff made sure that the pool was sparkling clean everyday. Given the large size of our group and our short 5-day stay, we decided against renting a car and relied on taxis instead to get to Florence. The villa is only 20 minutes outside of Florence, but the taxi fares ranged from 35 to 50 Euros (one way). The response time for the cab companies when I called varied as well - sometimes they came immediately and sometimes I was told to call back in 15 minutes because no taxis were available. Looking back, the better choice may have been to rent a car and deal with the hassle of finding parking in the city and navigating the narrow backroads instead. If you are looking for a beautiful place to relax, connect, and spend time as a family, this is it.

The Authentic Italian Experience
Staying at Villa Corsini was such a wonderful adventure for our group. Nestled in the rolling hills of Florence, but only 20 minutes away from the bustling city, the villa was the perfect home base for our trip. After a trip to the grocery store for some fresh food, the villa had everything we needed for our stay - including the vineyard's wine if we wanted! The villa is very authentic to old world Italy, and it was incredible to be immersed in the Italian tradition during our trip. Host Katia was so wonderful, and made our stay absolutely lovely. We cannot wait to visit Florence again!

Villa Murgiano
The Villa 's was exceptional. It had all of the charm one could hope for a 14th century estate with all of the modern conveniences of a/c, appliances and great showers. The views were magnificent and can't properly be captured by photo. The Villa was extremely clean and Catia the owner was a joy to communicate with. The grounds filled with Olive Trees, grapes, fruit trees and lines of herb plants added to the peaceful and relaxing views all around us. The best place we have ever stayed. Nothing but positive reviews. The town of Inpruneta was also charming

Absolutely Fabulous!
We loved staying at Caterina’s home. It is gorgeous and comfortable. She was so welcoming. There were 10 of us and we had plenty of room to sleep on incredibly comfortable beds. There were many choices to dine inside and out. The family loved swimming in the pool. The steps down into the pool were helpful for the little ones. A great way to exercise or relax after a day of site seeing. There were enough pots/pans, dishes and utensils to accommodate our large group. We enjoyed cooking breakfast and a couple dinners. We shopped at a local market and had a wonderful steak dinner in the neighborhood. We absolutely loved staying there and would highly recommend her safe, quiet, and charming home.

Dream come true
Staying at a villa and property like this was a dream come true. As you’ve read the pictures just do not do it justice. The view is spectacular. Our host was so charming and helpful. We had a cooking class with Jacopo from "Let's Cook" which was so much fun. We also did a Chianti Wine and Food Safari with Walkabout tours that was fantastic. All of Caterina suggestions were so helpful even down to the drivers she recommended. Having this Villa to come home to each night was the icing on the cake.

A beautiful villa!
We were a group of 9 who rented a 9 passenger van in Florence and drove to the Villa. Believe Katia when she says not to follow Google Maps and follow her instructions! The road was a bit challenging but we made it. The Villa was a very clean, had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and Katia was a real gem! We were fortunate to have her prepare dinner for us one evening which was delicious! The pool was a nice size but we did not use it since was pretty cool while we were there. The property is large and beautiful with many areas for seating on all sides. The views are spectacular from each direction. Katia is very responsive to any requests. We would definitely stay here again!

Charming & picturesque Villa & estate
Our family agreed that the stay at lovely Villa Murgiano was the ideal way to share time together during the special occasion of our niece’s wedding in Montespertoli. Despite our difficulties at the very beginning and some rather tense 😬 driving situations on the narrow country roads, we wouldn’t have traded the memories for a different setting. Katia has done an excellent job of renovating a house over 500 years old into a warm, comfortable, charmingly updated residence that can be shared by so many others. And the gorgeous Tuscan sunsets are magnificent! We felt so fortunate to have had 10 days in Italy that were filled with sunshine in October. We enjoyed our visits and talks with Katia, and her wealth of information…We wished our stay at the villa could have been a little longer to have more time to relax and enjoy the pool, hikes, and dinners “at home”.

We were a group of 8 college friends and spouses in our 60's and 70's looking to explore Tuscany. This place was a gem! The charm factor was off the charts. It is actually more charming than the pictures. Our host did much to make our stay enjoyable. Wine was stocked for our enjoyment. Our request for food items was there when we arrived. The location is a stones through from Firenze, but yet out in the country. Provided was a binder with much information about shopping, restaurants and other things very helpful. We highly recommend this place and we hope to be back!

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely villa. The home was more than large enough for our group of 6 - with plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces for us to entertain and hang out. The kitchen is well equipped, and stocked with all the basics you'd need. AC in the bedrooms, lots of windows, and ensuite in many of the bedrooms made for a comfortable stay. There is an overwhelming amount of charm and history in every corner. The host is delightful and a pleasure to work with. Would stay again!

Tuscan Tranquility
The Murgiano Villa and the grounds were spectacular. Pictures do not do it justice. We were there for 5 weeks and the temperature was well into the 90’s. The pool was beyond refreshing. We used it every day. It was cleaned every day and the pool became our refuge from the heat. The only difficulty we encountered were the winding and narrow roads. We did rent a car but found the roads extremely difficult to navigate. Let me state that you will need to rent a car to drive to the small towns to get provisions. Eventhough Florence was 20 minutes away, driving and parking was hard. We did try to use the Taxi App which was unreliable. Therefore, we used private drivers suggested by the host, Katia. Speaking of Katia, we found her attentive and simply lovely. She shared a wealth of historical knowledge and was very responsive to our needs while also respecting our privacy. Murgiano is great for extended family and/or a group of friends. We will treasure the memories that we made there.

The villa was perfect. The scenery was amazing and the villa had tons of characters, was comfortable, clean and met all our needs. Caterina provided us with contacts for a driver/tour guide, Angelo, and a cook, Laura, and they were both amazing. You will need a vehicle, though, to go to the grocery store and area restaurants. Caterina is fascinating and we enjoyed our visits with her. I would definitely recommend this villa for anyone wanting to experience a wonderful Tuscan vacation.

The villa and grounds were incredible.
