Used this hotel as it was close to a wedding venue, what can I say loved it, welcomed on arrival by Lorraine and was brilliant throughout. Slept well and breakfast was great what more do you want ?

I had a very speedy check in, and the team at Avoncourt were very helpful accomodating a quick and delicious breakfast, and even giving me a choice of which room I wanted on my arrival. I will definitely stay here again if I come back to Ilfracombe!

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. However, l did not like my single room..there wasn’t enough room for even a single chair. The furniture is just about adequate..it has a cheap look. The breakfast was ok..cheaper ingredients than l am used to.

A wonderful place to stay in Ilfracombe. Lorraine and Adrian were excellent hosts and very welcoming. My room and ensuite were great, with a view down over the town and towards the sea. Spotlessly clean. There is a new terrace area for seating outside and they have retained the Honesty Bar downstairs with a range of beers, ciders, wine and soft drinks. The breakfast area opens out on to the terrace and the Breakfast menu is truly amazing with a massive choice and ALL dietary needs catered for. There is the traditional English breakfast etc but my choice was Smashed avocado with feta cheese and tomato on brown sourdough toast..delicious! There is a footpath at the end of the road ( in one direction) down to the town and quayside via the town gardens and (in the other direction) access to the South West Coast path heading west. I will certainly be coming back and thoroughly recommend.

Avon court was a great place to stay and Allison was a perfect host. It was very convenient to the Coast Path if you’re walking. The room was comfortable and perfectly clean. The breakfast was wonderful. This was a great place to stay.

The owner and staff were extremely friendly and helpful, with great local knowledge. The room was very clean and adequate. The breakfast was excellent, food was hot and served on a hot plate. A variety of breakfast food was available. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Excellent stay. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed and little balcony. Bathroom small but contained bath with shower and toilet but sink was in the bedroom. Breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked to order. Good location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Avon Court Lodge. Our host was friendly and helpful giving us a map of the area and recommending things to see and where to go for dinner. . We particularly enjoyed the scenic walk to the town. The room was and bathroom were spotlessly cleaned. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and was delicious. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Lovely place to stay

Lovely couple of days here. Room with balcony overlooking the town and it was quiet. Very friendly and informative hostess. Excellent breakfast. Loads of books available to read. Would stay again. Walkable into town and beaches.

On arrival we were met by one of the owners, who was very friendly and informative. She continued to be so throughout our stay, giving us ideas of where to go and even offering us a lift into town. The other owner we only saw at breakfast but she was equally friendly and efficient. The breakfasts were delicious, filling and healthy ( fresh fruit salad with yoghurt)
