"My boyfriend and I were driving up to Scotland from Essex and needed a place closer to the borderlands. I looked up quaint places and found Penrith to be a good stopping point. Upon further research I found the Stafford house, and thank heavens I did. I’ve never felt so attended and cared after as I did during this stay. It truly feels like you’re taken back in time with all the amenities you need in current times. I would suggest this to every person on the planet. You will be well taken care of and have a warm (if you’re traveling in the fall/winter) and wonderful stay. They provide an extensive and varied breakfast that is absolutely incredible. A note if you’re using hotels.com: they do not communicate any information to the host. This is an issue on the 3rd parties end(like hotels.com and Expedia). "Lovely cottage with all the amenities that we required. Situated in a quiet village within close proximity of Penrith. Nice welcome box with tea, coffee etc and even treats for the dog. Good offroad parking at the back of the cottage and an enclosed front garden. Stayed for a week, excellent location for exploring Hadrians wall, lake district and yorkshire dales. "
