The hotel’s public facilities are well maintained — hallways and lobby are clean and tidy. Although breakfast options are limited, they cover all the basics: bread, eggs, porridge, juice, and coffee. Service is prompt and attentive; issues like a clogged toilet and requests for extra bottled water were handled quickly. The hotel offers a wide range of recreational amenities, including a swimming pool, game room, kayaking, go-karts, and archery. Behind the property is a peaceful river with a flat walking path that’s perfect for a stroll. While road construction outside the resort area causes some bumpy conditions, the overall stay was extremely pleasant despite the minor inconvenience.
The receptionist didn't understand English and completely ignored me even though I'm the one, who booked/paid for the room.
Positives: stunning views from the room, very quiet, large room, comfortable bed, nice grounds overall, pool and beautifully designed hot springs that Hilton guests can use.
Negatives: run down facilities (that's nothing to do with the closed ones due to regulations, I get that), rubbish laying around the grounds with some hazardous spots, hardly any Western options for breakfast(is this even Hilton?!)and even Chinese options sub-standard in quality and not worth the money(seriously, don't bother), not a single smile from any staff, no cutlery/cups/salt and pepper/sugar at breakfast so one has to self-serve for everything(are they lacking staff? how can this be an upscale hotel?Even B&Bs offer these basics already on tables!), no tea bags to choose from, only the most basic cheap drink dispensing machines, tables remaining dirty for ages with outside ones not cleaned at all after being used, people very obviously smoking inside the hotel AND inside the rooms even though the whole place is supposed to be non-smoking,NO teaspoons in the room-am I supposed to use my finger to stir my cup of tea/coffee?(only ONE tea bag/coffee sachet provided),no slippers until we asked, which is ironic because items such as disposable toothbrushes etc which are supposed to NOT be in the room according to Guangdong regulation, were there. No masks or social distancing by guests
