"Lovely traditional hotel beautiful inside anwell kept. Only one bath towel in the room when we checked in Shower gel was completely empty when wanting a shower before breakfast. Both niggles were sorted very promptly once call made to house keeping but i feel staff should be more on the ball"

"We’ve stayed at the Old Ship several times, as it tends to be the best value for money. We love the central sea front location (and are prepared to put up with a bit of city noise… the complimentary ear plugs are a nice touch), sea views are well worth paying a bit extra for, and we even enjoy the 100 year old lift …. on the occasional time it arrives before we opt for the stairs instead (it is described optimistically as ‘a bit slow’). Very pleasant staff too. Looking forward to our next stay. "

"Excellent value for money , room was large, large comfy bed with TV and sofa. Mini kitchen with kettle,sink,hob,microwave and fridge. En suite bath with shower. Towels provided.I only booked for the one night but would have happily stayed a week. Yes there was the odd hair and a bit of dust in places but on the whole it was clean. Its a bit dated but wouldn't expect anything less being an old building. I'd definitely be booking again."
