What's nearby

  • The dock of the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion on the shore of Lake Tahoe in Sugar Pines Point State Park. The lake is magical in itself, but sitting there enjoying the entirety of the scenery is breath-taking. The mansion tour is US $12 and a very nice docent led exploration. The grounds have a lot to see as it is a part of a larger state park. Cheaper than the Vikingsholm tour nearby and much less crowded.

Would definitely come back next winter. Host was very welcoming. Love that the cabin had everything we needed to cook, like pots and pans, spices and utensils. My family loved the place.

House was nice and the location as well. The host was also quick on her responses which was great. Two issues we had was when we had arrived the house was not ready yet when my sisters first arrived. Our check in instructions said had our check in was after 3 and it was 4 when my sisters arrived and the housekeeper was still their cleaning. I contacted the host and she replied quickly and apologized and accommodated with a later check out. Our second issue was we found a used t shirt that did not belong to any of us in our bedroom we stayed in. Lastly the shower curtain in the restroom was worn down and stained a little which also made us feel not so good about the house being clean. Lovely house overall.
