"We had a wonderful time at this property! Waking up to the sunrise was absolutely breath-taking. The staff was great!! Very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. I will definitely stay here again! I would have given 5 stars, but the property is a bit dated. I believe that they are replacing mattresses, but ours was still very lumpy and somewhat uncomfortable. Overall, this is a great place to stay with direct access to the beach. We will definitely stay here again!"

"I stayed for 4 nights at the Founders Inn. It was very quiet at night and the bed was very comfortable. Everything was very clean and the TV worked great. Staff was very nice and helpful. Dining in the Swan Terrace was interesting, I would have appreciated a chilled bottle of white wine instead of warm - so maybe they need to make sure they have chilled bottles on hand. Wait staff was apologetic, but I was stuck paying for a warm bottle of wine in the end. Overall, very nice experience."

"The property is a lovely, quiet destination where you can relax and enjoy beautiful scenery. This is a a nature-lover’s delight as you can marvel at waterfront sunrise/sunsets, bird watch, fish, and cruise around on your kayaks (and that’s just at the property — Kitty Hawk beach is an easy 30 ride away). The renovations throughout and ample room sizes makes this an excellent choice for families. My husband and I plan to buy a set of those Turkish Cotton towels! They were an added bonus after a nice shower!! Highly recommended!! We would visit again."

"Overall the rental was great. There were some things about it which caused some minor inconveniences but after communicating with the host, these issues were resolved. The overall cleanliness needs help. Under beds and on top of surfaces need dusted. We stayed here in 2024 and at that time it seemed to be in overall better shape than this trip. Still an excellent vacation and the location of this listing can’t be beat."
