1/ The price is very affordable compared to current market rates. 2/ The staff are cheerful, friendly, and always ready to help whenever needed. 3/ The room is very clean, airy, and tidied up daily. 4/ The room is fully stocked with toiletries and personal care items—all brand new and in sealed packaging. 5/ It is located right in the city center, making it very convenient for shopping and strolling around town. 6/ The area is very safe, both day and night. 7/ The hotel is surrounded by coffee shops, restaurants, and 24-hour convenience stores. I’ve stayed here three times now, and I will continue to choose this place whenever I visit Saigon, Vietnam. Take my word for it! I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere. We booked Asian Ruby Boutique Hotel for 2 adults and 2 children in a Deluxe Double or Twin Room. After arriving in Ho Chi Minh City at 7am following an overnight sleeper train, we dropped our bags and were told we could check in at 1pm. We returned at 1:30pm, but were then told to come back at 2pm. At that point, staff said the room we had booked was not suitable for four people, despite our Expedia booking clearly stating 2 adults and 2 children. We were offered an alternative room. We are backpacking through Vietnam and have happily stayed in very basic, cheap accommodation, so we were not expecting luxury. However, this room had extensive damp/mould staining, water damage, stained furnishings, a dirty dressing gown in the wardrobe and a window apparently repaired with clear tape, looking directly onto a metal fire escape. Within less than five minutes we decided we were not comfortable staying there and immediately asked for a refund. We had not stayed the night or meaningfully used the room. The hotel refused to refund us and made no real attempt to resolve the situation. Basic is absolutely fine. Dirty, damp and poorly maintained is not.

As long as you take into account that this is Vietnam, the hotel had everything and more. They always went the exta mile. So much so that we tried to stay an extra 2 days but they were fully booked. As for the price, it worked out to be £18 per night Hostel prices for mid-ish-range room. You won't be disappointed.
