"It was a very nice stay with an excellent couple. Warm welcomed. A very nice big dog was also present to welcome. I had to say hello to the dog as he was so friendly. Very cooperative host. Family environment. Residence is upstairs like three rooms and bathroom outside the rooms. Mostly quiet. Nice and clean and a proper communication with the host throughout my stay. I was invited warmly to have breakfast but had no time. Will miss this stay."

"Room had broken light fitting , cob web ,and stain on the carpet ,about to run a bath and there was someone else hair in the bath and on the wall so as wanted to get ready to go out cleaned it ourselves then run myself a bath gets it and all of a sudden the water is brown scummy and something brown floating around realised it was rust coming of the rusty dirty tap/ water drainer - reported to reception oh sorry and that was it . Pillows are like air not in a good way no good for side sleeper couldn’t sleep for hours then woke up with sore neck , asked for another pillow was told if they can find one we can have one One was left in the room so at least that was sorted ., furniture chipped such a shame as could of stayed elsewhere for much cheaper but it’s where we stayed for our anniversary last time and planned on returning here in the future but I think we will look elsewhere now"
"Superb staff, a wonderful welcome. Room was spacious and bed super comfy. A historic building so decor and some of the fixtures in need of updating, but tbh that’s what gives The Angel its charm. I’d definitely stay again and highly recommend."
"Bed was uncomfortable, mattress needs replacing. Reception told us they'd been replaced in some rooms not others. Shower was cramped and too low so I had to stoop. "
"Rooms are a bit run down, location is great for being so close to Cardiff bay. Staff are lovely and friendly and the bar is cosy. Breakfast was decent."
"Good for a reasonably priced stay if you go midweek.
Bathroom in my room was a bit odd, had a massive jacuzzi bath with a rainfall shower head over it, no shower curtain or screen. The shower head needed a thorough clean so who knows what state the jacuzzi jets would’ve been in. Seems a very odd choice for a hotel bathroom in a “4*” hotel. Felt a bit seedy motel like.
Looking a bit worse for wear in places in what is a magnificent older building with some great features.
There was an issue with the hot water for a few hours in the morning but was rectified in time to be able to get a hot shower, thankfully.
Wouldn’t rush to return here, not terrible but distinctly average. "
"Arrived shortly after midnight …pleasant welcome
Room well presented and clean
Shower lovely
Breakfast good selection
Excellent service throughout
Parking for brother picking me up was paid by hotel "
"Not the best start when the fire alarm went off just after we'd arrived. Towels weren't changed until 4 pm. Long wait in restaurant. No sandwiches available on room service."
