"Every single thing about this hotel from start to finish was perfect. The staff members at the front desk and restaurant were so warm and helpful, the entire hotel feels like you’re stepping back in time in all the best ways, and the room was INCREDIBLE. Both the breakfast and the dinner there were delicious. We stayed in a Superior Deluxe room that was so cozy and full of character I wished we had booked more than one night there. Very easy access to the entire town from here and everything is walkable. Would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this town."

"When we checked in, we were told we had “the best room in the hotel.” 🙄 A bit overstated. We were told we were on an upper floor (2) facing the street. We always request this, but never expect it. After checking floors 2 & 3, our room was on the first floor facing a parking lot/police station, with a lovely balcony. I returned to the front desk just to make sure we had the correct room. I think the gal at registration thought we were unhappy with our room. I tried to explain the room was lovely, but not as described and wanted to make sure we had the correct room. Another gal at registration said she could down grade our room if we wanted to face the street. At that point I gave up and she corrected the card to show we were on the first floor. Also the handle on the front door was about to fall off. On the upside, Mary at breakfast was exceptional. She remembered our breakfast order and was very sweet. The hot breakfast was top shelf."

"Neat place above the pub. If staying in that section, the stairs are quite narrow to get checked luggage up - but doable. We booked through Expedia and it said no attendant on site - so there was confusion on where to leave our bags and we did not receive a response so we ended up paying Premier Inn to hold our bags. But when we got to the hotel after checkin time , there was reception in the Pub. She was very nice and got us checked in quickly. Place was old and could use a dusting of the windows. We used the fan to stay cool but would have liked to prop a window open for a breeze. Bed was comfy enough and had extra pillows. Overall nice stay for the night."
