"The house was great! We were greeted by a deer pulling in! Everyone had a great time! Ages 3 - 54! We all very much enjoyed kayaking, paddle boarding, beach combing, hot tubbing, feeding the deer out of our hands, along with sitting around the fire roasting marshmallows. Definitely a place I would like to come back to. Thank you!"

"I first heard of this place about 4 years ago. A couple friends came here with their parents and added a third friend as they had a cancellation. Their description sounded too good to be real. So, a year later I came back with them to see if the rave reviews were real… let me tell you!!! THEY TRULY ARE!!!! So naturally I saved the contact info and made a mental note to come again. Tune in to this year and after a birthday in which I didn’t travel to celebrate it, I decided that it was time to return to the sunset lagoon. This time I kept it to my family. It was three of us. My cousin, my auntie and I. Carol and Dale are the ultimate hosts. How friendly they are, how helpful and attentive at a blink of an eye were there to your rescue. Yet when you are settled in they provide you with such privacy you wouldn’t think they were there. Now let’s talk about the food… I am an avid cook and I’m known to be a stickler about cooking from scratch and using the freshest ingredients. Can’t get fresher than getting it from the sea itself!!! With the proper ingredients that we brought with us we had such variety that we were able to prepare it in every imaginable form. Freshly shucked oysters, steamed with Chinese black bean sauce, clams in a sweet and sour, oysters Rockefeller, arroz con mariscos (Peruvian seafood rice dish) were just a few ways we enjoyed this gifts from the sea. If you book this place you will not regret it and won’t be able to wait to return again. I sure will"

"What a magical place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Tons of sea life, fresh air and quiet! No stores or WiFi, but that was exactly what we were going for. The hot tub was the icing on the cake!"

"Wonderful time in a wonderful location! So much space! We were six adults and one teen. Much joy in the kayaks (wearing the nearly new life jackets!) and the weather was great all 4 days. Our 50-something daughter and SIL planned on ordering kayaks as soon as they got home.A couple of down sides. My husband took all ingredients and two 6-inch cake pans to make grandson’s birthday cake. (We took our hand mixer, not needed!) The oven wouldn’t heat above 330. It took a bit longer, but he kept his eye on it. Baking potatoes took MUCH longer. He says it may just need a new temperature sensor.It was very convenient to have the grill so handy. However, it does not heat evenly, so the chef needs to pay close attention.We enjoyed some rousing ping-pong games, also drove over to the State park for a beach walk. And we loved tracking the seals from the dock—with binoculars we brought AND ones you thoughtfully provided! The morning we left, there was even a seal sunning on the dock.Our family had made reservations to do our yearly camping trip on Snoqualmie Pass. The smoke (and God) redirected us to Nancy’s Nest! YAYAYAY!"

"We really enjoyed our time at this property. It was good weather and we were able to make smores. The neighbors were really friendly. It was sunny in the morning on the deck but in the afternoon the house shades the deck. It would be nice to have a roll out awning so you don't feel like you fry in the sun in the morning, but it was great to have coffee out there. Early in the morning there was wildlife to watch. We had an eagle that went by everyday in the afternoon. There from flocks of geese and fish jumping all the time. It was really comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked to make all of the meals we brought. The stove top was really cool with the fan that comes out of the counter. The dining room also gets a bit warm in the morning, but it was not awful. We did not use the hot tub, but it looks nice.We loved the bathroom upstairs and the closet. The rooms were pretty comfortable. The guest bedroom upstairs is really tight for the second person to get in, but it is manageable.We would come back to this property, it was great!"
