"Beautiful location, lovely breakfasting room and public interiors. Very tasteful. Very good outside areas too even though the actual outside area was quite compact . It worked. The room was tastefully done and quiet, however the ensuite was rather small, beside the fields. Lots of wildlife. The only point I would make is that the dustbin lorry stopped then went right past my window at 6am. as did an early delivery. Luckily I was already awake . Breakfast was lovely. Everything was spotless and good quality. Staff on hand to help. Would stay there again . Overall, a find!"

"Beautiful hotel and facilities. We loved our room - the bathroom was amazing! Heating and hot water broke on Friday so shower/bath was lukewarm and cold room. which spoiled our evening a little, unfortunately. Staff were lovely and resolved it ready for the next day/eve. Breakfast was wonderful on Sat/Sunday with great choice and quality. Surrounding area is beautiful and we made use of the chauffeur service to come back from our evening at the gorgeous (and highly recommended) Royal Oak pub/restaurant in Cartmel. Small touches we loved: the friendliness of staff, champagne on arrival, daily newspapers, dressing gowns, lovely coffee bags in our room, Molton Brown products. Things we’d improve for 5⭐️: toiletries ran out, coffee (decaf only) and milk not replenished on Sat turnabout so we ran out (too late to notice on Sun am); no biscuit treats available with drink- making, bin not emptied so overflowing by Sunday. "
