"I really enjoyed my stay at The Gainsborough. You honestly couldn't ask for a better location. It's just a block from the square and an easy 10 min walk from Bath Spa train station, so getting around the city was effortless. The hotel was spotless, and the staff were friendly and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. The one small downside of being so central was some noise, though that was probably due to where my room was located. If you're a light sleeper, it may be worth requesting a quieter room. The spa was the highlight. It was absolutely wonderful and a perfect way to unwind after exploring Bath. Overall, a lovely stay, and I'd happily come back."

"Cute little boutique hotel. If I were a foodie, I would have taken advantage of their breakfast. Centrally located near all the things you go to Bath for. Great staff, spacious and clean rooms. If you like a more homey stay,over one of those sterilized franchises, this is the place for you!"

"The hotel and our room were a 10 on a 10 scale. The staff unfortunately seemed just plain tired. No welcome smiles- neither at the reception nor the dining. Maps of the town were impossible to read. The breakfast servers stood around talking. Never came by to check on us or refill our coffees. There was no concierge and many of the staff were new and seemed to know nothing about the town. Truly- a very surprisingly unfriendly experience. But loved the hotel!"
