Peaceful break away

Gerry’s 60th
A small group of friends booked the house for the weekend to celebrate a friend turning 60. The house is perfect for getting to everything in Martinborough and perfect for a number of couples. The kitchen is also well set up to cook for a large group. Plenty of parking too. Mature fun had by all!

Our family of 5 adults and 2 dogs had a wedding to attend, Chris's Cabin was ideal for us. A nice sized house that gave us all some space.

Peaceful, green space, close to town
The house is big, hidden in the trees with a nice sunny deck. It’s exceptionally quiet and there wasn’t a thing we couldn’t find in the kitchen for cooking. Thank you for letting us stay and especially for letting our four legged angel stay.

Just somewhere to sleep
Greytown is a very pretty village and we needed a place to stay so we could attend a wedding there. The house accommodated us all well, but it is quite a run down house and we were greeted by a definite smell of mould when we arrived. Rubbish in one of the rooms, dust beside the beds and cockroaches in the kitchen.

I'm sorry that you weren't happy with the accommodation but I think your comments are unfair. The house is not rundown and the photos on the website are representative. The damp smell was after a prolonged period of rain and has since been resolved. We do expect people to put their rubbish in the bins provided. If you'd read the house information you would have seen that the bugs are a native beetle which comes in on the firewood and not the european cockroach that you have implied.

Chris's cabin - an absolute delight!
A group of four women went to Greytown for a girls' extended weekend, fortuitously staying at Kathy's gorgeous Chris/s Cabin. It was fantastic. Four spacious bedrooms with fabulous comfortable beds, great bathroom, kitchen, lounge, dining and deck areas - and set in a lovely cottage garden. Kathy is a wonderful host. Highly recommend.

Family getaway.
This was a time for bonding. I had not seen my sister's for seven years, so we had a lovely time. The rain could not stop us. It was absolutely lovely. I love the home away from home.access was easy to all the lovely places to see..

Great location to grey town shops and short drive to Martinborough. Owner is prompt in communication. The house is lovely, excellent for family, fuss free (I don’t have to bring anything just my clothing). Self check-in and check-out is easy.

A comfortable family stay for all ages
This is a pretty and private property. For the in between seasons, particularly on cold mornings, the fire has to be lit in order to transfer heat the the bedrooms

Thank you for staying. We are happy you found it comfortable. Yes the last couple of mornings have been cold! All beds have electric blankets and there are heaters in the wardrobes. There is also a heat distribution system which carries warm air from the living areas to the bedrooms. The open fire and heat pump are also effective.

Bliss!
Lovely spacious house meant we each had our own space when we wanted ‘quiet time’. The fully decorated, Christmas tree- with lights, was a lovely touch- very welcome. The mattress in the master bedroom was possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept on- no aching joints in the morning- bliss! Peaceful setting also.

Stayed overnight at this property. The beds were extremely comfortable however the electric blanket did not seem to work on the left side of the bed in the master bedroom. It is an extremely comfortable house with a lovely garden. Would stay again.
