We rented this for Christmas a few years ago and the minute I saw it I knew I wanted to come back with my besties for our 50th.. Living room and the fire perfect giant kitchen is perfect. View is perfect. Such a great overall vibe

Walrus Rock
We loved the location on the Tasman sea. Had great barbecue ,sunsets and stars at night. The shore has thousands of rocks .However we found on the beach a flat rock that someone had drawn a walrus on. What a keeper. Has anyone else found anything like that?

Delightful sea and sunset
The owner helped build this place, and it is impressively designed, with huge openable window-walls that really connect you with the ocean and sunset. We had excellent weather and stunning sunsets over dinner, which we made every night in the large and well-supplied kitchen. A few of us needed to remote work, and again the open nature and passing wekas made that enjoyable. The rest of us took day trips to Punakaiki, Arthurs Pass, or fishing on the Grey, all reasonable drives. An excellent place to stay in the region. Steve was very responsive and helpful.

Greymouth Getaway
This is probably our 7th or 8th visit here, a group of us come over on a regular basis for competitive sporting event. Always love it, a perfect place to come back too after a hard day competing. Thanks very much Steve.

We had a great stay at this house. It was warm and comfortable with great beds, lots of entertainment and everything you need in the kitchen. Despite being there in Autumn, we made use of the BBQ and outdoor dining on a nice warm evening. We were really pleasantly surprised on arrival as I think the house is even better than the pictures show!

No hustle and bustle here
Lovely relaxing place to stay. More suited to three couples and kids as single beds not really suitable for adults. Well equiped and warm on the wet days. Definitely recommend for couples or those with young kids. Will be back.

We utterly loved our stay here, loved the space, the view is just divine, the rooms were well appointed, far enough away from the sittingroom/kitchen so that our girls could get up early, make their breakfast, music etc and not disturb us. Great bath. Watching the sun set with the weka was just beautiful, as were the walks on the beach. The only issue was the cleaners turned up an hour early, ruining our last family breakfast, so we had no choice but to leave. Owner didn’t seem fussed saying most people are gone by 10am sooo…..

Unfortunately, our trip was canceled due to severe weather conditions and the Met service asking people to stay off the roads. After communication with both Book a Bach and the owner, a refund minus the cleaning fee was given on this property. The owner understood the situation and proceeded with the refund. Good communication with a tricky situation as the property is non refundable. Well done to the owner for acknowledging the unpredictable weather conditions.

This property has a real holiday wow factor vibe. For us it was on a quick road trip, this was an oasis during a very wet trip. But even in the rain, the enormous size of the place meant we weren't crammed together with kids able to roam around and play. I can only imagine it in summer with all the expansive windows open and completely indoor outdoor. Loved it, plan to come back.

Outstanding property in a beautiful location
A conveniently located property within a short drive walk to the CBD, loads of car parking and a very well appointed home with every possible appliance and utensils for cooking in house, the layout of the home is very social and has a fantastic view of the ocean, bedrooms and bathrooms are generous and comfortable. We met the owner who is a really nice guy that made us feel very welcome. I would have no hesitation recommending this property and or staying again sometime in the future. Best regards Tony Frost

Perfect. We were a group of adults staying for professional learning purposes who needed a lot of separate bedrooms. The kitchen was really well equipped so we could easily cook for all of us, and lots of space in the home to not feel claustrophobic. Plenty parking for all our cars. The setting was perfect for walks and leisure after our learning sessions were finished.
