Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto

"Our stay at the property was very good with one exception - and it's a big one. The security staff were on strike for a wage increase. All entrances to the property were closed off and cars were allowed onto the property (one car each lane) every 15 minutes! It took us 2 HOURS to get to the front door!!! We were not alone. Many other guests relayed similar times. Everything was excellent as long as you did not want to leave the property. We left our car in the garage and took Ubers everywhere we went - but to do that, we had to walk about 3 blocks away and get in the car on a busy street because even Ubers had to wait online to access the front door. We did not receive any correspondence from either Great Canadian or from Expedia warning us of this. Great Canadian credited some to out account because we were not told in advance. The staff was wonderful. But the strike has been going on for 2 months now and no one told us."

"The location was perfect. This is a very quaint hotel which I enjoyed. It isn't too big or too small. There was plenty of storage and a safe in our room. I would have liked more places to hang my bath towels. Other than that the room was great. The staff was exceptional."

"This is a large hotel and is fairly busy due to its location and good room prices. It is however starting to show its age and could use a bit of maintenance. Having a balcony was a great feature but it took a visit from maintenance to figure out how to lock the door. The on site restaurant was handy and a good spot to have breakfast but having to pay up front to receive utensils to be able to eat was a bit awkward and slowed down the whole process. Parking was affordable at $15.00 per night but nothing was mentioned at check-in so it came as a bit of a surprise when checking out. Overall, a good experience and I would stay there again."

"Clean room, comfortable bed, helpful staff. Didn't use any amenities. Water pressure was terrible on the 3rd floor, but that's my only complaint. I would stay there again!"
