"The hotel was very good very clean and suitably situated for our weekend. Breakfast was excellent! The only bad point was that the swimming pool was closed all weekend and on the hottest weekend of the year and with 2 children it was a major issue! We would’ve stayed at a different hotel with a pool if we knew, the hotel should’ve emailed me before we got there to say but nothing was mentioned until I’d paid for our stay!"

"Amazing stay for my partners birthday. Room was very well presented and hotel offered to provide flowers to celebrate and even a happy birthday message written in chocolate! Absolutely recommend the rooms with a sea view, it really doesn’t disappoint at all! The larger rooms are well worth it, tons of extra space and let you really appreciate the design of the rooms. "It’s a cute B&B place , very unique and great vibe. But remember this is an old building, you can hear other guests upstairs and outside noise. "Lots of trip and height hazards due to variations in floor and ceiling levels throughout our top floor room and access corridor. Room selection should include information about these conditions, which came as a surprise. The quality of furnishings etc somewhat compensated but we needed to be vigilant not to hit our head or trip during our stay."

"Great traditional hotel perfect for a local running event. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely evening meal at the on site restaurant (recommend the passion fruit posset) and the hotel kindly let me have an early breakfast. Only a couple of minor issues with road noise and light coming in from the side of curtain but this is just an observation - I am a light sleeper - and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Recommend and I will be returning! Thank you!"

"We booked three family rooms for ourselves, our children and grandchildren. All rooms were extremely comfortable and each had a sea view. We booked evening dinner for 12 adults and 4 children and were given our own room at no cost. The food was just amazing. The staff and service could not be faulted. We could not have asked for more."

"My room at Motel Schmotel was great. The room was small and basic but had all amenities I needed. My lamp stopped working but I’m sure if I had reported it, it would’ve been replaced. Qi An was a lovely host and carried my bag up to the fourth floor for me. Good price and close to the city centre - great for solo travellers and business trips like mine. "
