The best area to stay in Gorbio is within the medieval village itself, particularly around the historic centre.

This area is the heart of Gorbio, characterised by its narrow, winding cobblestone streets, ancient stone houses, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the Mediterranean Sea in the distance. The village is compact, making it easy to explore on foot, and its main square, Place de la République, is a focal point for local life, often hosting small events or markets.

For couples looking for a romantic and tranquil escape, staying directly in the village is ideal. You'll find a selection of charming guesthouses and holiday rentals tucked away in historic buildings, offering a truly authentic Provençal experience. Evenings can be spent enjoying local cuisine at the village's restaurant or simply taking in the peaceful atmosphere.

Families might also appreciate the village setting for its relaxed pace and the opportunity to experience a traditional French village.

The best time to go to Gorbio is during late spring (May to June) or early autumn (September to October). These months offer pleasant weather, ideal for exploring the village and surrounding areas, without the intense heat or larger crowds of mid-summer.

Late spring sees Gorbio's gardens and natural surroundings in full bloom, with comfortable temperatures superb for walking and enjoying outdoor meals. The days are long, allowing for extended sightseeing and leisurely evenings.

Early autumn provides a similar climate, with warm, sunny days transitioning into cooler evenings, which is lovely for dining al fresco.
