Mountain Getaway
Cathy and Bruce’s guest suite was exactly what we were looking for. Remote enough to be able to enjoy the hot tub with full privacy, but close enough to Golden that we had easy access to stores and restaurants. Cathy and Bruce were both super personable too. Cathy had amazing recommendations for restaurants and local attractions and Bruce was a fount of knowledge about the area and local regulations. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend.

The stay was very comfortable, the loft was smaller than expected but quaint. Check in was a bit rough, along with the owners driveway and parking extremely icy and narrow. No labels on toiletries, kitchen (pots/ pans/ knives/ bowls) and welcome book could use a refresh.

Thanks for taking the time to review our property. I will ensure that things are refreshed in the kitchen. We live in the mountains and this time of year it is tricky with warm temperatures in the day and freezing at night but we do our best to keep our road sanded.

Can’t say enough good things.
From the moment we got there to the moment we left, Bruce and Cathy made us feel right at home. Made sure everything was great at all times. The loft was beautiful and had everything someone would want. Can’t wait to come again.

Anniversary surprise
I was taken to a most wonderful place near Golden, British Columbia for our ten year anniversary. We had a fabulous weekend thanks to the accommodations we had. The hosts are friendly and took the time to show us around their beautiful property. Golden mountain lodge has a sauna, hottub, firepit, and BBQ outside. Inside the suite was a perfectly setup one bedroom suite. Full kitchen with new appliances great you upon arrival. Large comfortable wing back chairs and a wood burning fireplace make the living room very cozy. Spacious bathroom with a deep tub and soft towels with a heated floor for extra comfort. The bedroom has a very plush bed and a giant window facing the hillside. I kept hoping we would see animals out that window. The place was spotless when we arrived and we tried to keep it that way with some elements of safety like new smoke detectors and fire extinguisher. The hosts excelled at the little things. The place was quintessential Canadiana right down to the cutlery choices. There was a box of charging cords and bear spray just in case one needs it for a hike in bear county. It It was a great surprise and it lead to a fabulous ten year anniversary. We utilized the BBQ, the hottub, and the fire pit. We stared in awe as the sunset set over the mountains as we sat by the fire on hand made furniture. We will be back again

Awesome Anniversary Get Away !
Cathy was a awesome host and they were waiting for us on arrival and even provided us with a nice bottle of wine and homemade cookies for our anniversary!! Highly recommend this place for your stay !!

Luxury Lodging in Golden, BC
Cathy and Bruce are very kind, thoughtful and caring. The communication before and during our stay was excellent. Their compound in the forest just south of Golden is first class. The (shared) amenities include a hot tub, sauna, fire pit. outdoor cook area, and a separate bar/party room. Enjoy!

Best place we have ever stayed.
Absolutely Amazing place to stay. Cathy and Bruce are very friendly and very accommodating with the little "Extras" that you don't normally get anywhere else. Everything is high end. Hot tub was awesome and there are many other amenities on the property (ie. Sauna, Tiki Bar, Barbeque etc. You will not find a better place in the Golden area.

Mountain getaway!
This property was a perfect break while on our way to Sicamous with the highway rerouting to Golden the trip is now 11/2 hours longer. We had mentioned to the hosts that we were celebrating our anniversary and they kindly left a delicious bottle of sparkling wine and home made macaroons! I was lovely, we highly recommend this propety!

Mountain Escape
We arrived to Golden Acre Mountain Lodge on Saturday afternoon, and we were blown away by how absolutely perfect it is! We stayed in the loft, which is beautifully cozy and well equipped. We enjoyed the hot tub and the complete tranquility of the location. Cathy was wonderful from the moment of booking. We are so glad we booked to stay here, and hope to be back!!

I don’t even know where to begin. From the second I booked this property Cathy has been a dream! So sweet and polite and genuinely cares for the guests. The property was amazing, beyond what pictures can capture. We stayed in the loft, cute and cozy with private entrance, gorgeous rustic feel and decor. Honestly everything was perfect. With COVID and all the stress this was exactly the getaway we needed. Thank you Cathy and Bruce for an unforgettable two days! We will be back:)

A perfect winter or summer getaway!!
My husband and I enjoyed an incredible getaway this weekend at Golden Acres. It is privately located just outside of Golden, nestled in a picturesque location on the side of a mountain. Cathy and Bruce are warm and accommodating hosts and made us feel welcome and comfortable during our stay. We stayed in the private chalet (the “Loft”) which is stunning - located right next to the main lodge, outdoor jacuzzi and sauna. Cathy gave us a tour of the other suites and they are all beautifully appointed and we would’ve had a memorable experience staying in any of them. Our stay was during the winter but we will definitely plan on coming back in the spring or summer!

A very relaxing few days in the most beautiful lodge!
We arrived to be warmly greeted and had homemade cookies and muffins waiting for us in a superbly decorated and well designed lodge hidden in the wilderness in Golden. We felt very much at peace in this quiet and very pretty location. Cathy and Bruce had made a lot of effort to decorate the lodge for the Christmas season, greeted us warmly and were very helpful. Many small details were well thought out, for instance slippers and robes (for use in the sauna and hot tub), a well stocked kitchen with many matching accessories (bear plates, animal knives and forks) and well chosen decorative pictures all served to make our stay very comfortable and very memorable. We appreciated the advice and helpful hints with regard to the sauna and hot tub and use of the lodge particularly as we had not used a hot tub before. We walked in the snow filled forest and then returned to sit by a mesmerising log fire. The lodge is well situated in a very private area which was secluded and quiet which made for a relaxing few days. Thank you very much to Cathy and Bruce for providing the use of their lodge which became the highlight of our holiday. Karen and Dieter, Wales.

Absolutely wonderful accommodations and hosts! Will definitely stay there again, really exceeded our expectations in every way. Bruce and Cathy provide so many extra touches and comforts. Golden Acres is truly outstanding! Easy drives to Yoho, Banff and (Canadian) Glacier National Parks. As well as Kicking Horse Resort in Golden. Fantastic hiking trails even in Golden, and wonderful restaurants. Small town but has everything you could need and everyone was so friendly.

Wow! Beyond expectations!
Cathy & Bruce were fabulous hosts! They were available when needed, but gave us our privacy. Everything was even better than advertised. The loft was super comfortable and well equipped. The extra touches such as the bread, muffins, and cookies, fresh flowers, bath salts, local natural soap and shampoo, and restaurant recommendations made our stay even more enjoyable than expected. We loved sleeping with the windows open and breathing the fresh forest smells all night. They even loaned us bear spray for our daily hikes. If you're in the area, you won't be disappointed with a stay at Golden Acres!

Perfect For Us
This was a perfect VRBO for us. The Accommodation, location, amenities and most importantly the owners. It's all that we look for,. The home of Bruce & Cathy is stunning, the B & B apartments on the lower level are amazing. We stayed in the "Lodge", the views from the upstairs lodge are awesome, mountains to the south. The Lodge has all you need, full kitchen, Wood Burning Fireplace, the Bedroom and Bathroom all as described well equipped and comfortable. (Satellite TV in main room & bedroom). If you enjoy the outdoors there is a fire pit, well used by us. Our hosts spent some with around the fire pit with us, for some relaxing conversation and fire pit stories. There is a Hot Tub, not used by us only because we ran out of time. The BBQ was clean, stayed at locations where it wasn't, and again well used by us. Reviews are personal, we all look for different things, if you are looking for a quality rental, in a great outdoor location with all the indoor amenities and outdoor equipment and most importantly hosts who take pride in what they do and enjoy meeting their guest and making their stay relaxing and enjoyable then this is the place you need to visit. We would/will, vacancy permitting, stay at this location again. to sum up it was "perfect for us" Mike & Eleanor Edmonton. AB

an absolutely beautiful, relaxing hidden gem with two lovely owners :)
My boyfriend and I had the opportunity to get away for the September long weekend and stumbled upon this gem of a place about 20 kms south of the town of golden. Little did we know what a treat we were in for! Cathy and Bruce were the most gracious, accommodating and lovely hosts and we felt right at home in their beautiful and cozy carriage house. From the gorgeous kitchen, to the luxury linens and mattress, to the property itself (including a fabulous hot tub) our experience overall was fantastic. They are currently working on a couple of suites in their main house that look to be the epitome of luxury as well! All in all, highly recommend golden acres mountain lodge and we can't wait to go back to visit! Thank you again Cathy and Bruce!
