1860's genre house with absolutely excellent location to Gettysburg shopping and tourist districts. Had breakfasts meals for 3 days and each meal was different, and very good. I highly recommend, and we will stay here on our next Gettysburg adventure

Nice Historical House! Common areas were nice! Breakfast was well thought out and tasted good! The dining setting was great too! Coffee and tea available anytime! Very good experience!

Another wonderful stay at the Swope Manor. I absolutely love this B&B, by far my favorite in Gettysburg. My favorite anywhere for that matter. The beauty of this amazing home is indescribable. Everything about it is perfect, from the staff, to the decor and amenities. So much thought has gone into this beautiful B&B, and it’s definitely noticed. I look forward to many, many more long weekends at Swope Manor. If I could move in I would…Definitely one of my favorite places on earth ❤️

Love love love!
This B&B was absolutely delightful! The staff were so pleasant and fun to talk to. Hearing about their history in the hospitality business, but also talking to them about the house and the history of the town. My husband and I stayed during the Gettysburg Christmas weekend and the place just sparkled with Christmas spirit. The food was excellent! Cookies and coffee always available for guests. The rooms were gorgeous and clean, and the property well maintained. One nice touch was the historian who came on Saturday morning at breakfast and gave us some great history of the home and location. We stayed in the Cabernet which was on the second floor at the back of the building. No rooms above and an additional entrance right around the corner. We looked at all of the rooms and all were spacious. My only “complaint” would be the noise. They are located a block from a fire station and train tracks. I was also surprised at how busy and loud the “main” road was. Not their fault and nothing they can do, I always travel with earplugs and a white noise machine so that helped. I would gladly return and plan to next year!

We adore The Swope Manor! Highly recommend the Miss Dorothy Suite and the Gettysburg Suite! Coming here during the holiday season has been wonderful with the Christmas decor :)

Very disappointed
The first night we got into the bed and it broke. We slept in it because there was no one around to correct the situation and it was late. When I told the manager the next day he said they were aware it needed to be fixed but had not had time to do it. When we came back to the room later that day the clean up was poor and there were pieces of metal on the floor. The next day we did not receive any room cleaning service at all. It was never disclosed before hand that parking was a good distance from the B and B and that it was $12 a day. I asked for an adjustment in the price of the room and received a $150 credit for a room that cost $259 a night. Also the room was on the street side and there was noisy traffic all night.

Our stay was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and informative. The B&B had a lot of extra touches. They really catered to their guest with a welcome glass of wine and comfortable sitting rooms. Breakfast was wonderful. The guest entrance was in the back of the house and our room, the Longstreet was right there so we heard guests coming and going. They need to replace back door lighting. It was very dark. In warmer weather there is a nice yard and outdoor seating area.

Lovely weekend getaway
We enjoyed our short stay. Lovely home, excellent breakfast, great location. One issue: the 2 rooms on the first floor are next to the door that all guests are asked to use to come and go. That was very noisy. I would consider staying again but not on the first floor.

The staff is extremely lovely and willing to help in any way. Their breakfast offerings were scrumptous. It fit our needs perfectly to stay and be within walking distance of the 30th Anniversary for the Gettysburg film festivities. I would highly reccomend staying in this lovely home.

This was our first bed & breakfast stay. It was wonderful. The team was friendly and accommodating. We met interesting folks. Breakfast was incredible. Chef Bruce made me gluten-free morning delights without me asking! We will no longer stay at hotels. We are looking forward to our next visit to Gettysburg. The Swope is our pick.

First B&B stay in Gettysburg
My husband, daughter and I stayed one night at the Swope Manor. We made a stop in Gettysburg on our way to Philadelphia. It was our first visit to Gettysburg. The town is quaint, safe, clean and has wonderful character. It was also our first stay at a bed & breakfast. The B&B is right in the heart of town and is walking distance to tons of things to do. The Swope Manor was exactly what I expected esthetically. The rooms and decor were unique. It wasn’t very full the night we were there so they let us check out all the available rooms. Unfortunately, I’m assuming because it wasn’t very full, the owner worked most of the day replacing deck boards and trying to reinforce it. There was caution tape surrounding the entire deck so guests were unable to utilize it. The weather was wonderful and I would have liked to have my complimentary glass of wine and or my morning coffee on one of the chairs on the deck. We checked in a little after 3:00. Our room was located right next to the deck. If we opened our window all we saw were men working on the deck. In addition to our unusual view, there was constant pounding, drilling and other noise associated with their work. They were working on the deck when we left for dinner around 6:00 pm. They were still working on the deck when we returned. The noise continued until around 8:30 pm. In my opinion, they should not have had guests stay while these repairs were being completed. It ruined the ambiance of an otherwise beautiful B&B.

Really liked the breakfast, the room and the convience of being near where we wanted to go. The smoke detector kept going off which bothered some guests for two nights. Really need to change the batteries every time the clocks change in the spring and fall.
