"We have stayed in private homes all over the world and this was one of the best. The accommodations were very comfortable with all the amenities we needed and the care package exceptional. Our hosts were very accommodating and helpful. The location initially seemed a fair way away from the centre of town but the town centre proved not to be particularly attractive so the closer proximity to roads out of town proved more useful to us for exploring the region by car. The street was very quiet and the off street parking a rare advantage. We would definitely stay here again if we are back this way."

"Vastly overpriced and understaffed for what it is. Reminded me of a 1970's idea of what a reasonable hotel was. Positives: the staff are great but not enough of them. If they're on minimum wage it's criminal, they were so busy and deserve a LOT more. Negatives: Executive room, really? Separate toilet and bathroom with 1970's rendering on the walls. The TV is one step up from Cathode ray tubes, no casting here! Air con? Nope, you get a fan, in any colour as long as its white! Restaurant, apparently opens at 6pm but no-one there til 6.45. Gave up and went to the local Italian. Breakfast, nearly £20 per person and one, yes 1 Coffee machine for a restaurant that looks like it accommodates 100+. We waited nearly 15 minutes for Coffee by which time our breakfast was cold. The hotels one and only redeeming feature is it proximity to the docks. That's it. And at £260 per night per room you know it's a scam. Avoid, stay further out of town and use the short stay car parks by the docks."

"Upon arrival the house was not clean. We had just arrived from an overnight flight and needed to spend an hour cleaning. There was urine all over the toilet seat in the main floor bathroom, sinks were dirty in bathrooms and kitchen, counter top was filthy, microwave top was dusty, there were dead bugs on floors and live wasps in the house. The beds were okay comfort wise but stained. There were broken blinds in bedrooms and drawers interior were filthy. There were only 4 towels for 6 people. The host was very apologetic about the situation and did offer to have the cleaner come back but we were not comfortable with that. He did say he would refund the cleaning fee which we appreciate and hope to see that reflected soon. While the host was very communicative and aimed to fix all issues (they brought more towels), I can see on other websites other guests have had similar complaints. The cleaner that is being used absolutely needs to be replaced and a deep clean is needed including the stairs. "
