Property was clean, convenient, close to the river and has plenty of charm. Front desk is very accommodating and they had my room ready at noon ( 2hrs before actual check-in). I overslept the next day and took an extra 45 minutes to check-out and they were very nice about it. They were very eager to help with directions and attractions when they found out it's my first time in Frankfurt.

Every trip to Frankfurt brings me to Maingau Hotel. Conveniently located in Sachsenhausen, has good access to public transportation (train, tram, subway, bus), is a nice walkable area with plenty dining options. Within walking distance from the "Altstadt und Römerplatz". The staff is very attentive. Yet, I'm not sure why, with every stay my room gets smaller :-) Look forward to my next stay in Frankfurt

Small double-bed room, tiny bathroom. Very clean, good breakfast for €12. Three blocks to Schweitzer Platz subway or tram. Südbahnhof just a little bit further. Easy walk to the river, and downtown.

Good accommodation in pleasant location.

We stayed three nights in a superior double which was large and comfortable. Receptionist/manager was friendly and helpful. Quite a few stairs so for some people it might be worth enquiring about accessible roooms. We did not require housekeeping but this was available on request. We breakfasted at the cafe next door. Sachsenhausen area is quieter than central Frankfurt but an easy walk to the Altstadt, the river and the museums. Good restaurants nearby. Street noise was excessive one night - sounded like a party - but this can happen anywhere. We had everything we required and definitely preferred this location to the busier centre. Would stay again.

Maingau in June

EXCELLET LOCATION! The property was very clean and the service helpful. Always appreciate a good breakfast when traveling and the Maingau had a lot to choose from, fresh and tasty. It was pretty warm in Frankfurt, and the room didn't have any AC and as heat rises, at top floor was a bit stuffy.

Das Zimmer im 6 Stock war schön, der Ausblick auch und der kleine Balkon dazu hat super gepasst. Es ist halt kein neues Gebäude und daher auch meine kleinen Abzüge. Personal und Service und die Lage waren super.

Bin einmal im Jahr beim Held der Steine der seinen Laden in 5 Minuten Fußweg Entfernung hat. Der Südbahnhof ist in 10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Die Zimmer sind klein aber das ist auch kein Geheimnis. Das Hotel ist relativ verwinkelt. Hatte das Zimmer 025. Man müsste mehrere Treppen rauf und wieder runter gehen. Definitiv nichts für Leute mit körperlichen Einschränkungen. Bin gerne wieder da.

Wir waren nun schon zum zweiten Mal in diesem Hotel, weil wir uns dort sehr wohlfühlen. Alles ist sauber und ordentlich. Das Personal sehr freundlich. Hunde sind herzlich willkommen ( kostet aber extra) Das Frühstück ist wirklich hervorragend. Rührei wird frisch zubereitet. In der kleinen Lobby kann man sogar abends noch gekühlte Getränke genießen. Mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln ist man schnell in der Innenstadt. Parkhaus in unmittelbarer Nähe

Vom Südbahnhof 10 Minuten zu Fuss. Self-Check-In nachts war unkompliziert. Unser Sohn hatte ein Bett auf dem Zustellsofa- er fand es bequem. Zimmer war schön. Gratis Wasserflasche für jeden und eine Kaffeemaschine mit Kapseln. Check out um 11 Uhr war super. Gegend sehr nett mit vielen Cafés, Restaurants und schöne Läden. Wir können es empfehlen!

We arrived at 8:15pm. I provided my name and the man at the front desk said, you are not here. I asked him to give me the wifi code in order to demostrate my reservation throughout the email confirmation I received. The password didn’t work. I asked him what to do, he replied "I don't know, you aren't here find another hotel" Another guess was nice enough to let me use his data, then I showed the receptionist the reservation and he still insisting "you are not here". Finally, I contacted Expedia, and the reservation was under my company's name, but my reservation also shows my name, email, and confirmation number. Frank did NOTHING to look any further to find my reservation. We asked for a top floor, he said the hotel is full, and gave us room 202, it was not possible to sleep, too noise, and no way to have a room change since there is nobody after 11pm. Next morning, another male receptionist was nice, and change us to the top floor, but we still able to hear the woman next door and the one diagonal. Those walls are like paper thin. The webside states sound proved rooms, Where? Not in that hotel. I do not recommend this cheap hotel.

Bastante que desear

El hotel tiene una ubicación aceptable, lo cual es probablemente uno de sus pocos puntos positivos. Sin embargo, la experiencia general dejó mucho que desear. Para empezar, el servicio de limpieza fue prácticamente inexistente. Durante mi estancia, tuve que bajar tres veces a recepción para pedir toallas limpias y que al menos limpiaran el baño, algo que debería ser un estándar básico. Esto refleja una falta de atención al huésped que resulta frustrante. Otro punto decepcionante fue el desayuno. Cobran casi 20 € por persona, un precio que simplemente no justifica lo que ofrecen. Es un menú muy básico, que en mi opinión no vale ni la mitad de lo que cuesta. Además, las instalaciones no están diseñadas para personas altas, como en mi caso. Las puertas tienen apenas 1,90 m de altura, lo que me llevó a golpearme varias veces. Un detalle que puede parecer menor, pero que resulta incómodo y poco práctico. El ascensor, por otro lado, es diminuto y terriblemente lento, lo que complica mucho su uso, especialmente si llevas equipaje. En resumen, no recomendaría este hotel para familias o para estancias de placer. Quizás para una persona sola en viaje de negocios podría ser funcional, pero definitivamente no es un lugar al que volvería. Hay muchas opciones mejores por un precio similar.

Simple lodgings, convenient location

I have stayed at this hotel several times and I find it good value for money. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The location is excellent for visiting museums on the Schaumainkai or walking across the bridge to the old town and Christmas market. I stayed in a single room, which was small and spartan. The bathroom was tiny. To get to the back part of the building there is a complicated system of stairs up and down, even when using the elevator -- OK for people in good shape, not so good for people with bad knees or poor eyesight. Don't arrive late for breakfast or you might miss out on eggs :); years ago they had wonderful pastries -- those have disappeared, but what remains is adequate. I would happily stay here again.

Great hotel, I stayed there often back a couple of years ago. Nice area and lots of food and drink options in walking distance. Only negative is parking. Need to be lucky or use parking garage nearby. The good thing, that was only 8 Euro overnight parking. I’ll be back
