Two Bourbon Barrel Cabins

You are renting both cabins. Each cabin has 1 bedroom, full bath, living room and kitchen. These are perfect for traveling couples.

These are tiny cabins approximately 400 square feet each with a generously sized firepit for night time relaxation.

The cabins are close to distilleries (about 8 miles from Buffalo Trace) and the West 6th Brewery Farm is about 2 miles away. These are located on the Kentucky River and in close proximity to the confluence of Elkhorn Creek.

  • Kentucky State University was chartered in May 1886 as the State Normal School for Colored Persons, only the second state-supported institution of higher learning in Kentucky.[1] During the euphoria of Frankfort's 1886 centennial celebration, the city donated $1,500 towards the purchase of land for a new college on a bluff overlooking Frankfort. The new school formally opened on October 11, 1887, with three teachers, 55 students, and John H. Jackson as president.[1] Recitation Hall (now Jackson Hall), the college's first permanent building, was erected in that year. KSU became a land-grant college in 1890, and the departments of home economics, agriculture and mechanics were added to the school's curriculum.[1] The school produced its first graduating class of five students in the spring of that year. A high school was organized in 1893. This expansion continued into the 20th century in both name and program. In 1902, the name was changed to Kentucky Normal and Industrial Institute for Colored Persons. The name was changed again in 1926 to Kentucky State Industrial College for Colored Persons.

Bourbon Barrel Cabins

We had a great stay, owners have done a great job creating a quiet retreat! It’s a short drive to Frankfort, can visit all of the distilleries you want and then return to a quiet & peaceful cabin to relax.

Awesome Cabins

We were in the area to visit the bourbon trail. Loved the location as close to Frankfort and distilleries. The cabins were beautiful, comfortable, and cozy. We enjoyed the firepit in the evening and it was wonderful.

Relax

We were visiting and looking for a clean comfortable place to stay. This was it. Quiet and cozy and we were fortunate the weather was cool enough for an outdoor fire. The cabins were exactly as advertised.

Perfect spot !

We booked these cabins with our friends for our bourbon tour vacation. Perfect decor. Very chic, clean, light and airy. The house had everything we needed. Comfortable bed and couch with plenty of blankets. Great fire pit along the river. Very secluded and quiet location.

Loved These Cabins!!!

What a great experience staying in these beautiful cabins. Great for two couples … we each got to enjoy having our own space. It rained so we couldn’t enjoy the fire pit. But we loved everything about these cabins. We will definitely be staying here again. Close to Buffalo Trace, Woodford Reserve, Castle & Key distilleries!

There’s nothing better for your bourbon trip!

This was such a gem and a fun trip!! We were able to drive an hour out to Louisville and visit Buffalo Trace etc during the trip. The houses were clean and the area is beautiful. We saw a beautiful sunset in the afternoon and got to experience the Kentucky river right in front of us. Something else that gets overlooked often - the shower head was high up! Traveling with a very tall man, this was a blessing. I can’t say enough great things about these houses!

Whiskey & Bourbon 24

We went to Kentucky to visit some distilleries and just couldn’t believe how lucky we were in getting these cabins. They were within 30 min of 3 distilleries that we wanted to visit. They were clean and had everything we needed. And even had firewood for us for a nighttime fire in the fire pit. I have already spread the name and we may come back next year. Thank you

Excellent for our group

If you are traveling as two separate couples and in the Frankfort area, this place is absolutely perfect. Two separate homes were extremely well kept. They smelled brand new and looked it as well. Beds were very comfortable. Property was quiet and right on the river. We came for the UGA v Kentucky game and this place was about thirty minutes from Lexington. We didn't know it was bourbon fest weekend but that turned out to work out nicely as well as we were able to hit several local distilleries in the area. I cannot say enough good things about this property
