"Great Sand Dunes Lodge is a great base camp with an unbeatable location right at the entrance to Great Sand Dunes National Park. The staff were friendly, the room was generally clean, and the simple grab-and-go breakfast was helpful before heading out. Stargazing right outside the room was a highlight. A few bugs (flys nothing scary), but overall a solid stay. Definitely recommend nearby Zapata Falls too."
"Great place. Excellent views of nature and the mountains. Great wildlife views in the front yard. Quiet, peaceful, and tranquil setting. Hosts were wonderful and quick to respond. We would gladly stay here again in the future. The house is laid out well to host a large family. The kitchen is a little cramped, but it worked well for our needs. Bedrooms are decent sized and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the large tub and rainfall shower. It was a wonderful stay and the hosts are wonderful.Thank you for sharing your cabin with us!"
Mt Blanca vista, views of multiple 14ers and Sand Dunes National Park.
10/10 Excellent
"We really liked this one-bedroom small house. It was clean, well-cared for and has lovely views of the mountains and prairie. Make sure you take time at night to look at the stars.Chris was helpful and flexible. I would stay here again if back in the area."
Casita Cuchara- condo at base of Cuchara Mountain Park
8/10 Good
"The property was very clean. There was plenty of room for all of us, 3 adults & 2 kids, to have space. There was plenty of bedding and blankets. The pillows were amazing!!
We were able to cook breakfast and lunch there and went out for dinner at the local restaurants. Very good!!
We didn't bring pets, but there was a bed and blanket for them if we had.
Definitely better than staying in a hotel. We will absolutely stay there again. "
"The property is beautiful, secluded but close enough to services to easily access stores and food. We loved the view of the stars at night. The house is off-the-grid, but isn't lacking in modern comforts. We did have to go through unpaved roads to reach the property, but it wasn't too bad once we found a good path to get there! The bed was amazing, and everything was spotless. She put extra care into the amenities and ensured we had everything we needed, and thoughtfully left disposable toothbrushes, which we forgot ours somehow! Sue was welcoming and friendly. We loved having a little getaway and would definitely book with her again!"
