"Pros: Valerie is a kind host, and the property is in one of the most beautiful areas I have ever stayed. Cons: There is one shared bathroom on the first floor. There is no bathroom in the room, or the one next door which I saw when I found out that the dividing door was not locked. The address said Fort Plain, however it's in town of Danube, outside of St. Johnsville, not even remotely close to FP. Mind the location, as that wasn't a big deal to travel back and forth. "I loved my room at this motel. I was able to park close to my door. The room was large, comfortable, very clean, and smelled fresh. I enjoyed the lake view. It is about a 10 minute drive to Cooperstown. And a 3 minute drive to an excellent brunch restaurant called Local Affairs. Although I did not utilize it, the arcade room was very cool. For budget travelers, this motel is exceptional."

They offered complimentary bagels and muffins and cereal along with coffee, tea, milk, juice and a nice choice of snacks. Very relaxed atmosphere. Made us feel right at home. I would recommend to anybody ne. Also plenty of parking. Within walking distance of main attractions, shops, and restaurants."

The small couch in the room was worn out and we sunk deep into it, making it hard to get out. The desk chair would not elevate. The breakfast was fairly standard and tasty, but the coffee machine coffee was not particularly good."

"The area where the hotel was located was very central to walkable restaurants. Had a small town feel to it. We had a room that faced a common area courtyard on Main Street that was well lit, but there was some crazy guy screaming for quite a few hours late at night; at anybody and anyone who were sitting on the benches. The parking lot really needed repaved . There were a lot of potholes. The continental breakfast wasn’t bad. They had Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches you could heat up in the microwave as well as make your own waffles or oatmeal or cereal or toast or bagels and muffins. They had some fresh fruit and the coffee was pretty decent. The beds were pretty comfortable. The wallpaper in the hallways needed to be peeled off and redone and the carpets in the hallways could really use a good vacuuming. We just stayed one night so it served the purpose and it was reasonable. If I had to, I would stay there again."
